Too bad in murca you have a right to self defense. Cops aren't dudes in the street looking for a fair fight. We have rules and a job to do. His job was done by the letter of the law. Dont try to incapacitate a cop.

Cops are not armed to the teeth. Most of them carry a 9mm Glock at this point and a taser. Also, having a partner during patrol is rare now. If you and a buddy have a rifle you have them outgunned and out numbered.

Just heard about this story, let me get the facts straight.

Guy is passed out in a Wendy's drive thru, blocking the drive thru.
Guy fails breathalyser test.
Guy gets arrested.
Guy resists arrest and wrestles cops.
Guy steals a taser from cop.
Guy aims (and tries to fire?) taser at cop.
Guy is shot by cop.

Sounds about as justified shooting as can be.

Am I missing something?

Imagine you carry a gun and taser and get into a fight with some drunkard.

In the scuffle the drunkard steals your taser and turns to shoot you with it which, if he connects, leaves you at his mercy to pick up your gun while you’re incapacitated and use it on you.

Or you could use your gun at the moment they turn to taser you ensuring you’re not left in the vulnerable position described above.

Raise of hands for the people brave enough to holster your gun and hope this drunk criminal either doesn’t connect with the taser or doesn’t decide to pick up your gun and shoot you if he does connect with the taser and incapacitates you.

This is not rocket science. Someone put a gun in this bitch ATL mayors hands and have a drunk come up, start a fight with her, steal her taser, and try to shoot her with the taser and see what she does with her gun.

Don’t let her know it’s staged. Make the bullets in the gun blanks and make the taser ineffective so no ones in real harm. Just make her think she is.

Would be a fun experiment to put this stupid c*nt in her place.

2020 has revealed there’s no one that deserves their position of power less than the ATL mayor. From how she handled COVID to how she’s handling the riots.

Never seen greater incompetence in my life. The worst part of all of this somehow she continues to be lauded with praise by the media/left.

It’s astounding!

You got it. This is the reason the fire at the black owned Wendy's this happened and the derp fest that followed where the cop got fired, the other put on leave and the chief resigned.

All because of this.
Virtue is its own reward.

I honestly hope it happens.

You know which communities are going to see officers resign from first? I’ll give you one guess.

The communities with upper class who value police protection and don’t sh*t on them for doing their job will continue to have a force around them.

Let the black run communities go police free and let that black on black rate crime soar to staggering heights like you wouldn’t believe. It’s already the highest incidence of murder of races.

Let them see the hard way how fairly they were being treated by pulling that protection altogether.

Some groups need to learn the hard way they aren’t actually being treated unfairly.

And we’re reaching the point where telling them isn’t good enough. So show them. Pull the police in these communities.

Have at it.

Cops killed 1000 people in 2019, while only 50 cops were killed. How is this possible, since they are so undergunned and unmanned? We have more prisoners than any other country in the world, yet you guys act like cops are out there undergunned in a dangerous warzone. Lmfao. Stop watching Dirty Harry and Death Wish movies and face reality. As far as the first post, I believe that the shooting was justified.

The next step is a federal police force. Which was probably part of the goal all along. These communities will be crying for government handouts to fix the destruction that they caused.

No we won't let it because we are honorable people and for the most part believe in what we do. I have a fkn master's degree in IT project management and can easily do something else but chose not to.

Point is you dont hear us speak out because we are in uniform and are not allowed to. We just want to live to be honest being **** on all day is part of the job and when it spills over like it does now it makes it dangerous for our families and having a life outside of uniform is what truly upsets us.

Not sure how this will all shake out but I do indeed have my limits and they are getting close.

This is the fundamental issue. Intoxicated individual becomes violent and fights the police, taking his stun gun. No, it's not deadly force - but could have rendered the officer powerless and his weapon available to the suspect. This deranged individual who is willing to assault a cop would now be loose on the public. This is not remotely the same as the Floyd case which so far as I can tell everyone agrees should never have happened.

LOL @ black female chief instantly stepping down. There is no pleasing the mob. What good is having police who are unable to do their job and enforce the law? Yes, bad cops should be held accountable - absolutely. But this has gone so ridiculous where any action taken by any cop in any situation is somehow inherently evil and grounds for dismissal etc.

Good lord, you're dumb. No way you're a lawyer unless you're some corporate shill lawyer. Any prosecutor, defense lawyer, or even a civil lawyer would know the definition of "weapon" doesn't imply lethality at all.

From Webster's dictionary:
Weapon
Something used to injure, defeat, or destroy.
Means of contending against another.

Like you really believe that?

I wonder how many other justifications you make for people getting shot. I get it this guy became a threat sure. But you don't think there could have been another way to handle this even if he got a hold of the taser?

Bro. There is no amount of alcohol that would ever allow anyone sane to try running from police. If you have an IQ over 90 there's no amount of alcohol that would convince you to get into a brawl with them. That's like saying "I hope you never get yucky and beat your wife and kid". Either you're the type of person who would do something that moronic or you're not.
