I really missed going to the gym. I lost 15lbs and didn't train from late February until early August. I actually struggled to get 5 reps with 135lbs bench... was humbling, to say the least. Deadlift always seems to hover around 2 plates after time off, no matter the length. I haven't tested squats yet because the racks practically have a lineup each time I go, which is before work.

Most importantly, my mental health has improved substantially since going back to my gym routine. I often forget how much it affects your mental wellbeing.

Also, my new/temporary gym has both CNNandFox News running on an equal amount of monitors in this gym. No other stations, just 10 or so of each, I gotta give them credit for showing both political sides of the MSM.

My info is straight from the docs in the hospitals, not the government. I wouldn't trust them to give us all the info we're looking for. They don't share the breakdown by emirate, just country totals. That sucks. I know the death count is legit, as are the hospitlizations. The cases, who knows. That said, we do have the highest testing rate in the world, by a country mile.

Yeah they were incredibly serious and strict about it here from the start. You don't mess around. $800 fine for not wearing a mask, $800 for not distancing. $15,000 for breaking quarantine rules. Everybody complied, even European migrants.

Those who tested postive were either staying in hospitals or quarantine hotels. If you had no symptoms, you could self quarantine at home, but were given a smart band to wear to monitor your vitals and your movement. And you couldn't take it off either because they'd know (no pulse).

Pretty strict, but it worked, i guess. We're pretty much done with Covid it seems (inb4 2nd wave), and the country is open for tourism as of the 23rd of June.

You will get all of your strength back...definitely you did the right thing to just take it where it's at rather than pick up where you left off and hurt your shoulder or back.

I wish gyms used more of their floor space for power racks. If it were me, I'd not have dedicated benches and have a rack for each spot with an adjustable bench for each that can be used for squats or different presses.

I know that a gym quality legend rack would be no more than one of those hammer or cyber benches.
