Luckily itll be very hard for the swarms of "activists" to spin this video. Its very clear what happened. Otherwise these officers would already been fired and facing criminal charges

Your defending a point that no one has made. He listed criminal charges. He provided the video where the officer defended himself. The young man lost his life.

How is this a pro or anti marijuana conversation. Its either legal or illegal in that state and without a card it was illegal.

ok so just a question, if you pull up on a guy who was driving fine no issues, but he smelled like marijuana and it was illegal to smoke marijuana while driving in your state, what do you do? arrest him and throw him in jail? or just leave him alone?

Here you are defending someone that was driving with weed flakes all over their clothes, my god you are retarded.

I've smoked plenty of weed in my younger days and it does indeed impair you, you shouldn't be driving high period.

The resisting part, driving with a gun in the front without a concealed pistol permit, and going for the gun is what got him killed.

Impairment with driving varies so much from person to person. It is a bit bizarre to only hone in on drugs and alcohol when things like sleep, quality of sleep, and age can be just as influential on ability.

I dunno about all states but in Colorado there are DUI laws for MJ the same as alcohol. Its still irresponsible to smoke and drive because if something happens the weed will get blamed. Can people do is successfully? Sure they do it all the time. If you were a true marijuana advocate you would be promoting responsible consumption rather than trying to argue that people drive better high.

im not "defending" anybody, guy should have been shot no doubt, but to put marijuana on there as if it was to blame for this whole incident? is laughable, and just because marijuana impairs you doesnt mean it impairs everyone and in fact may help some people.

Lets give an example here:

lets say someone who suffers from schizophrenia takes anti psychotic medications to function and it helps him drive, should he not be allowed to drive while taking a medication that helps him function on a day to day basis and even help him drive? should a schizophrenic be forced to take the bus all his life when a simple anti psychotic med can help him function and live a completely normal life?

Not that I'm arguing with the way this all went down, but it was my understanding in FL you could have a firearm in the car even without a CC permit, though I believe its supposed to be stored in a glove compartment or a similar compartment.

EDIT: Yup:

"A question I am asked frequently is, “Is it legal for me to carry a firearm in a car if I don’t have a Concealed Weapons’ Permit”? The simple answer is, “yes”, but with certain conditions. Chapter 790.01 generally prohibits the carrying of a concealed weapon, or firearm, on your person or in your conveyance without a permit. Carrying a concealed weapon other than a firearm is a first degree misdemeanor, while carrying a concealed firearm is a third degree felony. The grey area often falls in the safe transport of firearms while still having access to them. Obviously, most people will transport handguns in a box or a holster, often in the glove box, center console or backseat of a car. You may also have seen shotguns and rifles displayed openly in the back rack of pickup truck. This is legal and falls in the, “private conveyance” exception of Florida firearms law as covered in Section 790.25(5) Florida Statutes. That law states that it is legal to have a concealed firearm within the interior of a private conveyance, without a license, if the firearm or other weapon is securely encased or is otherwise not readily accessible for immediate use. The law also expressly allows the possession and storage of rifles or shotguns inthe interior space of car or truck when in plain view. The question, however, gets tricky on secure storage of handgun. When is it illegally concealed? To clarify the law, the legislature defined securely encased as, “a glove compartment, whether or not locked; snapped in a holster; in a gun case, whether or not locked; in a zippered gun case; or in a closed box or container which requires a lid or cover to be opened for access.” The legislature further defined readily accessible for immediate use as if, “a firearm or other weapon is carried on the person or within such close proximity and in such a manner that it can be retrieved and used as easily and quickly as if carried on the person.” If this still seems a bit ambiguous, I am in total agreement with you and would air on the side of caution. My advice has always been to obtain the Concealed Carry Permit and avoid any miscalculations. Still, according to Florida Law, you can possess a loaded firearm in a glove box or a holster or a zippered case within your car, truck or RV. In no event, however, does this exception allow citizens to possess weapons or firearms of any sort into secure prohibited areas, as defined in Section 790.06(12)(a), Florida Statutes. If you have any questions, or if you have been charged with a gun crime, feel free to contact us and, as always, be careful."

That's how we do it up here. As soon as they legalized DUI laws were implemented and people were being charged left, right and center. They don't care how long you've smoked or how often, a baseline needed to be established and as a smoker I wholeheartedly agree. If you want something legitimized conditions and standards need to be met.

Part of the reason I prefer it remains illegal. They will never turn down the opportunity for a big revenue grab

I've been smoking weed since I was 12 ******* (clean for 3 years now.) It can produce paranoia and psychosis. Sorry you're to stupid to realize this and think that the effects you experience is what everyone else experiences as well.

Well it hasn't been as profitable as the government anticipated. If anything it's caused the black market to flourish because they can offer better product at the same or lower price points. After the initial DUI rush, raids on unlicensed shops, etc most people got their act together and things have leveled out for the most part.

And every single study where psychosis and extreme paranoia are evident contains a person like you. Not an adult that started smoking, but some child with an underdeveloped brain. If you start smoking at 12 chances are you were born with chemical imbalances, and all the marijuana did was exacerbate your condition.

And how was the police officer suppose to know the person he shot wasn't one of those people?

As a matter of fact, you can argue from this very video that the weed made him act irrationally.

What are idiots like this thinking? What was his game plan? Grab the gun and run hoping not to get shot? Get in a shoot out with two cops? Suicide by cop? "Alright I give up I don't want to die" when obviously that's exactly what he wanted to do. Feel bad for the cop and I personally don't like cops in general.
