"Disgusting" is a poor and inflammatory conclusion. The incident was over and he was being taken away from the scene.

Please note that officers have constitutional rights and you are not privy to conversations that do not pertain to police action. The camera offered no evidentiary value other than to be used against the officer.

Like it or not we have rights.

I heard it as well and thought it was strange, and was wondering if there was some protocol for it. Like that was the first officer there and it's possible he might have used up all his memory, so turn it off before it records over itself.

I literally ran someone over. I called the cops and he came and got both stories and determined the other person was jaywalking. I didn't make any sudden movements or act wild. I wasn't drunk and I don't do drugs.

Nothing happen to me. Don't do illegal ****. It's not that hard.

I think that weed is underestimated as a recreational / medicinal drug when it can certainly have the potency that can resemble a high dose of psychedelics, especially with the strains these days.

Nah. Its lawyer time after the LE action is done.

I.E. current climate

Or maybe we should keep it on all the way until I cook dinner? They have to be turned off at some point. No longer commiting to citizen contact is not a big ask.

Also on overwriting... as an RFP writer for these types of projects, there better not be a product in the field that has this function.

We push battery life with a 1 minute to 30 second buffer on the front end that overwrites but you always have the minute before.

Initial contact was a seatbelt violation. That started the whole incident.

Outcome was the driver's actions.

Don't have any details other than between initial contact, and final outcome; do not smoke the devil's lettuce, the gun laws suck where ever that is, and don't think you'll win on the streets against cops.

I don't have sound at work but who was telling who? You can see it falls during the initial scuffle and the backup is rolling the entire time. That is shady if it's said but I have no idea why either cop would even say that..?

it was after the shooting incident was over and the second guy that caught the action on cam.

Not even an issue. It was over. The guys staying with the shot guy were still using theirs.

It was the backup that told them to turn their body cam off. It’s exactly at the 9 minute mark.

Why are the police officers telling him not to reach for a gun and then asking where it is after he’s been mortally shot, multiple times. They clearly have zero idea if there’s a gun there, and while officers need to be concerned for their own lives and going home, these officers are clowns.

The police here have zero control of the situation. He’s moving because he’s been shot.

I understand for a police officer that everyday is scary, and they deal with chit that a pedestrian doesn’t normally deal with, but I worked as a bouncer for 3 years in two of the cities with the highest murder rates in the country and dealt with drunks daily, people on other chemicals. People coked out, brawls.

Never would have pulled a gun in this situation.

So there wasn't a period where no camera was rolling.. I don't see the problem and seems it would be normal action to take. I mean they are turned off and on multiple times a shift aren't they?

How is a scene “secure” when someone is dying?

The officers clearly indicated there was a potential firearm around before the suspect died, how is an unidentified firearm “secure”.

It should have been deescalated.

99% of the police shootings I see are justified, and I can’t imagine dealing with violent people and worried about coming home safe to a family, although I have dealt with violent people, had knives pulled on me and had a gun pulled on me twice. All of those situations got taken care of without anyone being significantly hurt.

Biggest thing when I was bouncing was people joked around about me being roadhouse. I told them it’s a people skill job.

You’re friendly with people, you control the situation, and occasionally you do have to fuk people up, but you give them the friendly option first.

Violating the basic rule, only ever do one illegal thing at a time while driving.

If you have contraband in the car, wear your seatbelt and don't speed
If you are driving drunk, don't drive on the sidewalk

You would have never pulled a gun when someone dived into their vehicle right to where their gun was and then stomped the gas while you are hanging out of the car? The cop never had a chance to secure the gun so he didn't know exactly where it was and obviously couldn't take the man's word for it. I don't defend cops but this is literally exactly how it should have went down. The guy was more than nice when the guy tried the excuse of hemp smoking. Most people would have been patted down and cuffed right on the spot. Hell maybe he should have done that? Then people would bitch his rights were violated.
