Do you lift and exercise?

Fasting is OK but if you don't change your habits you're likely to more or less go right back.

You have to keep chipping away at replacing destructive habits with productive habits.

Fasting is great BTW.

I've done it (not to lose weight) and it was amazing every time.

I'm really overdue TBH.

Yeah ive been lifting on and off for a while for 4-6 months at a time before I fuk up yearly. I realized recently that there are 2 reasons why I fuked up every time.

1. Stress from taking on too many things at once
2. Holiday feasts (i.e. Christmas and Thanksgiving)

Just need to take things one at a time to not overwhelm myself, and be mindful of my eating habits when im back home with family.

The last time I made a big change was form sept-dec where I lost 35lbs in the span of 3 months doing OMAD on a cut while lifting. I did well when going back home for Thanksgiving. Was still doing OMAD and the only feast I had was thanksgiving day.

Christmas was different story. Went all out during the feast, and then ate chit tons of Chick-Fil-A the following days after. After that, i retained the same eating habits and gained the weight back in 3 months.

I've had really good success after extended fasts with keto OMAD. The second I come off of that and eat carbs or eat more than once a day, everything goes to chit. Carbs are like heroin to me, I just can't handle them unless I'm doing intensive cardio on the daily.

How old are you?

I've gotten to an age where I can't, or don't want to consume anything excessively.

I'm way more observant with my body now, even how it's influenced by my mind.

For example, junk food- I used to just give myself a straight green light on it.

Now I realized that I ate junk because it was convenient and my blood sugar was low for whatever reason (possibly because of junk food).

So now one habit I adopted is to just go get something healthy out of the fridge, or even just a cold glass of water.

If I still have that craving after I have an orange, or a glass or ice water or whatever then fine, most time that does the trick though.

Even things like I have a decent sized water bottle I carry around with me, and I always make sure to fill it with cold water before I leave the house.

Because if I'm away from home and I'm thirsty I'm probably gonna end up stopping somewhere to pick up who knows what crap to drink.

Or now if I'm craving chocolate I have the healthy chocolate, instead of getting a Snickers or some junk like that.

Yeah carbs are addicting as fuk. I was able to control without much issue prolly because I had so much of it without going over my caloric maintenance the last refeed. Will try keto omad next time though

I'm 23 currently.

I understand you on the feeling of wanting healthier alternatives to junk food.

I've been slowly adopting it subconsciously. Seltzer water over diet coke, dark chocolate over Hershes, homemade burgers instead of mcdonalds, etc.

Eating in moderation is the one I have a problem with if I don't keep myself in check. If im not following a regimen, ill tell my self "ill start it tomorrow" and go all out with the food for days on end until I realize that was a stupid idea.

That's why I brought up age, because I'm wondering if there's an age component to it.

Anyways I'm leaning out right now and it's because I'm consciously making it a point to only eat when I'm hungry (duh, LOL).

I had gotten out of hand when Covid hit, I stopped lifting and started binge eating, gained 10-15 lbs, body composition was getting soft.

I've noticed with myself that any time I have some big changes that tends to happen.

In this case it was the whole not having to work as much, gyms shut down, etc.

The junk food and the eating when you aren't hungry go hand in hand.

Right now I'm kind of hungry, but because I've been eating healthy the hunger I'm feeling is nowhere near as extreme as if I'd been eating crap.

I can't remember all the jargon and CBA to look for it but that's scientifically proven stuff.

Current weight: 260.6lbs

Did 1 44 hour fast and 1 36 hour fast.

Not ideal, but I cut the first one at 44 hrs because my room mate asked if I wanted to practice motorcycle riding and I said yes.

Didn't want to risk collapsing while riding or something cause I would be wearing gear, sitting on top of a bike that heats up to like 250 degrees, and it was hot as **** outside (90 degrees+).

Will be aiming for atleast 60 hours next time.

One benefit that I got from consistent fasting is that I feel more satiety when I finish eating.

The whole COVID situation causing gyms to shut down is a bummer. One reason I like calisthenics because I don't have to rely on having equipment to get a workout in.

This was taken at around 260lbs, so probably on the more obese side.

you don't look bad at all - and in clothes you probably look just fine. def not obese. i don't think you need to be doing drastic fasting. i think you just need to lift heavy, do cardio, and get your calories, protein, and general nutrition on point. maybe OMAD at most. good luck.

Thanks brah

I've been doing 24 hour fasts lately because of the increased stress at work. Boss hired someone and wanted me to train them.

I'm currently at 256.8lbs
