This is a quote from the mayorsounds like someone who has a problem with white people. at what point do you decide it's not enough? that's nearly 1/4 of your count. how about you just make unbiased decisions based on who has the credentials for these higher up positions? whoever it may be.
I don't know man it just seems like they're making guilt decisions at this point. it's almost like they're acknowledging that black people can't achieve anything unless we hand them an achievement. ev everyone's a winner right?

TBH the guy has been with the department for 19 years and is the current deputy chief. He may be a good candidate for the position, race not being relevant. With that said people are talking about lawsuits and threats if he isn't appointed chief... Not exactly a step 'forward' in any direction.
I worked for a police department with a black chief. He seemed like a pretty good guy but definitely did a lot of grey area stuff. Rumor has it he was basically told by city officials to retire or the skeletons would come out of his closet. He retired. He did a good job of reducing crime in black communities, but not so much as to how a 'liberal' would appreciate.


In essence under his orders narcotics unit and street crimes unit were to exclusively investigate black neighborhoods, and were to exclusively target young black males. He was clear he wanted young black thugs off the street. And anyone that looked like a thug was to be targeted. He promised to reduce homicides and crime in the black community. And did.


You pretty much double/triple policing in black communities, spend millions of dollars on surveillance camera's/equipment and put them all in black communities. And basically have specialized units focus all of their resources on investigations/arrests in those communities. And crime falls. Homicides were cut, had a 100% solve rate and a crazy amount of search/arrest warrants for drugs were made.



You can't get that kind of results with a white chief in 2020. Because you can't have a white chief promoting racial profiling and focusing nearly all of the departments resources on making arrests in the black community. Furthermore, a black chief has the ability to appease the black community leaders with all that going on. Because in that case its not 'racist policing' its targeting and reducing crime in an at risk community.



Be careful what you wish for. A fire and brimstone black leader in law enforcement doesn't have to tippy toe around political correctness.
