Getting back on the wagon, did some serious damage in a month and a half at home with the family.

Just threw all of my perishables in the freezer

7 days you definitely got. Im ready to starve myself nearly to death at this point I am so disappointed with where I'm at right now. I wiped away 4 months of progress in 6 weeks.

Same, I wiped 3-4 months of OMAD progress last year because i went out of control while at home during the Christmas holidays, then it carried over to 2020.

If I had just controlled my eating after the holidays and then continued to hit the goal weight in January, I would have been ripped by then.

I was only supposed to be there for about a week, and I had fasted a week prior to prepare. I did all the birthday celebration food and everything, and then I just didn't leave and never got back onto my usual keto OMAD routine. I gained 30 pounds in six weeks, even though I had a 6 day fast in there. My metabolism has to be complete garbage to even make that math work, it blew my mind.

we fookin snake dieting brahs? I love Cole, i love 3 day fasts, gonna do a 3 day dry fast at some point.

Basically i bulk for 9 weeks getting strong as **** then at the end i 3 day fast, usually dropping 6-8 pounds. I gain about 1 pound a week bulking, so i get all the benefits of bulking and then just drop some extra fluff

I am outside of his circle of influence but his followers are welcomed as extended fasters.

Big ouch.

Well get your mind right and get back to it. Don't let it become a long-term setback.

I didn't discover it through him nor have I really looked into his regimens, but I am aware of him and know that his approach is within the umbrella of extended fasting. I came about EF via Jason Fung's intervention approach

Past the 36 hour mark now and the worst of the hunger is gone. Was absolutely ravenous this time after about a month of high carb. Good news is that I'm down over 5 pounds just going back into ketosis, so some of my ridiculous re-gain wasn't real.

I'm targeting 18 days for this fast, planning to meet up with some college friends that weekend and will break then for about three days of eating.

Never saw this thread before.

A friend and I are doing a 36 hour fast on Friday, and a 72 hour fast next weekend.. i've never done anything more than 18/6 before.. mostly to just experiment and see what it's like. Anything i should know? I plan to have electrolytes on the 72 hour fast

You could probably do without electrolytes at that length depending on activity level but they can't hurt. There isn't a whole lot to it other than to just not eat. Some noteworthy elements are horrible breath/mouth taste, sometimes odor through the pores, and occasional explosive squirts upon refeeding.

You may consider getting the Life Fasting App to track your hours and mood over time. It's very interesting to observe the pattern of how you are feeling and how hungry you are over the course of an extended fast. There are some legitimate highs and lows in the process.

We changed our mind and are gonna do 48 hours for the first one, starting tonight after my last meal. Activity wise, i work from home and i'll be only walking.. no resistance training during my fast

I'm using an app called 'zero' atm, but i'll check out that other one - cheers.

I'll get you when i'm not on spread

Nice, 48 hours will give you an idea of the most difficult part of the process and what it is like. Zero is a good app as well

In to see and read results. Any studies on the benefits of extended fasts that you can link OP? Planning to do about a 60ish hour fast at the end of my current training block. From what ive read, 48-72 hours seems to be the sweet spot. I may go the full 72 if I decide to push the 1st day of my new block back a day idk yet.

Has anyone lifted during an extended fast?

I will backfill this eventually. In the mean time, Jason Fung is a source who has accumulated and publiahed a lot of this information with sources attached.

Onto day 8, all of my dreams are now food related. I binged a gigantic bowl of nothing but pasta, pepperoni, and provolone cheese in my dream and then was in despair for having broken the fast. This happens over and over again in the same night when I go back to sleep

Well done. I was on vacation last week and indulged more than average but not overboard. Did a maintenance fast from after dinner Sunday until lunch on Tuesday. Feelin great.

I ended at a few hours shy of 12 days on Friday, and had lamb and kafta kebab w/ mahammora and garlic sauce. Breaking a long fast is something everyone should experience, there is no substitute for the greatness of the first meal

Went to a BBQ on Saturday and had a bit of everything and some beer, food was incredible and worth the damage.

In the process of deciding whether to do a week of beef heavy keto omad or just fast until next weekend.

Good work m8.

Do you find you gain a lot of the weight back when refeeding like that? Or do you manage to keep it down still despite the beer and bbq for example?

The weight explodes with reintroduction of carbs. I also become unquenchably thirsty and pack on a bunch of water bloat. I haven't even weighed since Friday, I prefer to re-enter ketosis and then assess where I'm at. Rule of thumb is end of fast weight is about 3-4 lbs lighter than actual weight when refed.
