A lot of this question depends on supply chains and ressources, so a lot of it actually depends on how thrid party countries act.

A Germany, that is allowed to keep trading oil from the US and other country for virtually unlimited ressources is less endangered of overextending and getting stuck in the Russian winter than it was IRL. With much more supply those suplly chains might not break and the soldiers get stuck.
Time is also a factor Germany might have timed it's Russian invasion way better. Winter 1939/1940 was actually an even colder one than 1941/1942 so if Germany went straight for Russia, they would have had to deal with even more severe circumstances. If smart they might have timed their invasion better without other forces and invaded earlier that year and mostly avoided Russian winters.
It still is a race against time, but the Red Army started out oretty incompetent.

With the US being a separate continent of approximately 28times the size of Germany a land invasion seems pretty impossible. It's just way too large and disconnected from Europe to launch a meaningful invasion.
So it basically becomes a stalemate or a race to the nuclear bomb.

Soviet Union. They did most of the killing (and dying) vs. Germany in WWII. It would have sucked even worse than it already did, but they might have defeated them on their own.

USA, nope. I mean theoretically yes but in fact probably no. Even getting a landing would have been tricky with no Eastern Front to hold up millions of German soldiers. Then they face a much larger German force. The attrition would have been absolutely brutal, ridiculously worse than against the Japanese. Stalin could absorb absurd losses because he ran a totalitarian regime. A democracy wouldn't have stood for 100s of Ks of dead US kids for the sake of a European conflict.

No-one else has a shot.

Soviet Union endured extreme casualties. If it was 1v1 it would’ve been worse and ultimately Germany would’ve won

Yea, Japan never really had a chance the way they went about it. Invading mainland China due to culture animosity and military propaganda and then trying to take out all of America’s carriers (and getting zero) in Pearl Harbor. Considering Japan itself has like no natural resources they were hosed before they really got going.

Yeah that's a fair assessment. So many variables but everything I've read on the subject and I've read plenty of WW2 books and other war books - I don't think (at the time) there was a more feared army than Germans in WW2 and they earned that reputation. They were good and so were their Generals. The whole country was very militarized and they were extremely pissed off about how they were treated after WW1 which allowed Hitler to feed off that and create basically a whole country built for war. The soldiers and even kids were so ready to kill it was ridiculous. Not to say many Germans weren't terrified of another war but many of the soldiers believed in Nazi doctrine that it was their destiny to kill and take over the world and nothing else mattered.

They lost the war mostly because they were put in an impossible situation more than anything. If Hitler had prepared them for the winter in Russia w proper equipment and tanks etc and if his generals weren't so terrified of him they may have had better plans throughout the war.

Who knows what would have happened... I think USA would definitely have held its own against Germany 1on1 but win... I don't think so...

Again, I don't think this makes any sense. Are we talking Germany before taking over Poland? Because if we are talking Germany before the war started v. USA before the war started USA would obviously destroy them. After Germany stated trying to secure all the resources and extra manpower they needed the war would never ever be 1v1. That was the whole crux for both Germany and Japan.

To answer op, none of them would have even been remotely close to besting the Nazis in any battle, at land air or sea, if the war had truly been 1v1.

Maybe the British navy could have beaten them at sea actually, but that’s a maybe..

USA, endless supply of materials and resources. Empire of production at the time.. Only thing that could have stopped a US victory in a 1v1 would be public opinion. The Wehrmacht were remarkably skilled and motivated, think I read somewhere that even at the very end of the war they exacted a 1:1 casualty rate on allied troops. That's with all German cities in ruins, supplies stretched thin, pushed on multiple fronts and without aerial control. It would have been a bloodbath.

The Russians certainly did most of the dirty work and paid an enormous price. They deserve all the credit in the world, but it would not have been possible without US supplies.

They didn't do it all by themselves, but they were the main force in defeating Germany. We were important for defeating Italy and Japan.

USA was a good army and had a great ability to mass produce but I doubt democratic America would have been able to stand for the casualties that would have been necessary to defeat dictatorship Germany 1on1 at that time. Russia had like 24 million killed during WW2 mostly fighting Germany. USA (or any country for that matter) would have had to be prepared for a similar sacrifice if it was 1on1.

Germany's military was a killing machine back then. They were obviously very evil as was Japan but putting that aside their military was arguably best in the world.

It took almost everything the world had to beat them and Japan. Largest army (Russia) best navy (Britain) and worlds biggest economic power (USA).
