how much do dumbbells cost? home gym owners GTFIH

Is it normal to pay for a single for $100+?

tryna get pairs of 40, 50, 60, 70lbs, and they come out to be $660+

is this normal?

If not, where the hell do I get cheap, good dumbbells?

Yes, dumbbells are expensive. If price is an issue, I suggest hunting them down second hand, even if they are all different pairs. Or you could just stop being poor.

A full set from 5-70 is $2k+

So yeah sounds about right

Make your own from concrete, or commission a machinist to make the metal plates to spec and just buy the spinlock bars to put them on. Something like this should be easy to make for any skilled machinist, and he could make the handles as well. Up to you in terms of budget if you want to go with nickel plated and knurling

You’re better off on craigslist. Sometimes people move and don’t want to bring them with them.

I spent 15k on my home gym . I miss working out with hot chicks

IMO the Ironmaster dumbbells are the nicest adjustable set you can get... nothing is as nice as a big rack of discrete weights, but these are pretty close.
