So 100 grams of Bacon is Only 541 Calories?

I googled. So 100 grams.

1 slice of bacon is around 8 grams. So that is like 12 slices. Why are so many afraid of eating it?

Eat bacon all the time while cutting (british back bacon though so higher protein to fat ratio). Nothing wrong with it. Is too thin to be a calorie bomb especially if you grill as opposed to fry

Some douchebags are scared of it because its 'processed meat'
Somehow still managing to avoid getting 'too big'

100g bacon - ~550 calories

100g baked boneless chicken thighs - ~200 calories

100g grilled sirloin steak - ~250 calories

I effing love bacon, but I also have a hyuuuuuge appetite so if I'm cutting I have to eat less calorie dense foods to get/stay full. That 10-11 slices of bacon that amounts to little more than a snack would be like 1/4 or 1/5 of my total daily calories on a cut.

Bacon isn't calorie dense it just isn't very satiating.

It’s the curing process with sodium nitrate that turns simple pork belly into what can be an unhealthy food. It’s easy to get around that though. So choice of bacon matter.

Because it is very high in saturated fat and cholesterol. It is by far one of the worst true protein sources you can eat. Most of the calories come from fat. You are much better off eating chicken which has a lot less cholesterol and fat.

One slice of bacon has about 1g of saturated fat. Now multiply that by 10 and you have a whopping 10g of saturated fat. If you have artery clogging and diabetes goals, then bacon is for you.

541 calories bacon (100 grams)
Total Fat 42g
Saturated Fat 14g
Protein 36g
Cholesterol 110mg

541 calories cooked lentils (470 grams, although this is an unrealistic amount of lentils for one meal, this is to show the comparison of nutrition between bacon and lentils. A typical bowl of lentils is around 150-200g)
Total Fat 1.88g
Saturated Fat .47g (saturated fat much healthier in vegetables vs animals)
Protein 42.3
Fiber 38g
Cholesterol 0mg (fruits/vegetables do not have cholesterol)

So basically you'd have to be a complete moron to have bacon become a staple part of your diet

I prefer chicken bacon, it's a staple for me or sometimes turkey bacon.
