my digestion hit the ****ter 6 weeks ago and my bulking turned to just fat gain and muscle loss, none of my food was being absorbed. Usually when any sort of virus or infection hits my stomach my Vagus nerve likes to **** me over for a few months

so decided to do a little 8-10 week shredding.

dropped carbs from 600 to 300
upped cardio from 4 20 min sessions to 6 30 min sessions, 3 of them being HIIT
protein 350
fats 50

Planning on reducing carbs 50g after 2 weeks, then 50g after 2 more weeks and staying at 200g also adding 10 min to cardio until I hit 50 min then adding in a night time cardio 3 days a week.

Thanks for the feedback, my countries gyms closed March 23rd and are just reopening this week. I bought some home equipment have maintained most if not all of my upper body mass through gym closures but I have lost most of my lower body muscle as I haven’t really been training them properly.

I was thinking I could eat at maintainence for the next 4-6 weeks while letting muscle memory kick in and my leg gains return and hopefully that would mean I would recomp and lose a bit more fat that way rather than going to a lower bodyweight. Do you think this would work?

That's a lot of cardio.
How heavy did you get with the bulk?

What are your macros now?

yeah but I was already doing 4 days at 20 min, so had to add on to it, adding a day and 10 min to other days isnt much, and only for an 8 week period and wanting to make the most loss out of it, ideally go from 16% bf down to 9-10% area

I got to 293 at the highest, but then covid hit so losing the gym dropped me down to 280, then this stomach thing dropped me down to 270, then i got back up to high 270s but because of the digestion issues it was mostly fat and water.

macros are 350p/300c/50f right now.

Definitely a bit fluffier than I was a few weeks ago, but I’m full and primed to start cutting again. Currently at 2400kcals a day, refeed is 3200kcals every 4 days. No cardio.

This side is still really awkward for me to pose. A lot of work to do.

A bit worried that I’m not lean enough for 9 weeks out; however, I still haven’t started cardio and my calories are high for 165lbs

No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

you are lean enough for 3 weeks out, i would worry more about not losing any more muscle, 9 weeks is a long way to go that lean.

Should deff work on your posing more though, need to twist the uper body more and chest up, and for the back pose lean back without bending above the waist so much.

Thanks for the tips man. First time competing. I’ve been practicing posing the last few weeks but definitely need to work extra hard at it. Im not too concerned with muscle loss at this point. I pretty much maintain this year round (maybe 5 lbs heavier). However, once I start cutting again, it’ll be interesting to see what happens

190 lbs is my starting weight, im going to aim for 179.
"The flowers bloom, then wither... The stars shine and one day become extinct. This earth, the sun, the galaxies and even the big universe, someday will be destroyed. Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

bro im in the same boat have been debating keeping it going and or dropping it and going for a cut while i'm not able to lift or eat near as hard as I should

gonna drop everything back tomorrow and just slowly try to drop weight and go for a proper bulk in say 3 maybe 4ish months time. Feel like a bitch for doing it but also gonna be the smarter move until I can figure out how to work in meals and lifting with work

@george2100 posing is lookgin damn solid now brah you've really gotten better at it over the past couple weeks, just fine tune how you position your hips and keeping your shoulders level, when i was debating competing in physique last year I went hard on watching posing videos and learning and those seemed to be the most important notes everyone mentioned for MP that knew what they were talking about.

Just wanted to say that I really appreciate this thread and everyone involved! I’ve been dealing with some medical/personal things lately and the encouragement from you bros pushes me to keep grinding!!!

Anyways, here’s an update. Currently at about 2500kcals a day. What I’m doing is lowering my carb intake and increasing my fat intake every week. I estimate that 2 weeks from now, I’ll look a lot sharper due to being full on keto at that point. I know this works for me. I also feel fantastic right now physically. Energy levels are through the roof, and libido is also sky high! Lol
