Got another raise/promotion.....reps till I'm out!

-Did a hard reset on my career path a little over 5 years ago.
-Started over in an entry level position making $12/hr working night-shift at a Waste Water Treatment Plant at 28 w/ a Finance Degree and 6 years business experience.
-Was promoted 6 times in 4 years with that company, left in 2018 to move to the USVI to relax/reflect and enjoy life.
-Got a job down there and just got promoted for the 2nd time in less than 2 years with this company.

14% raise. I now make more than 4x what I did when I started in this industry 5 years ago.

It's never too late to make a change boys. This isn't a brag thread....this is to show you that you can do whatever you want and that when you're happy with what you're doing you will excel.

We're all gonna make it.....it just takes the effort on your end.

Congrats my dude. Wish more people realized college isn't the way for everyone. Plenty of trades to learn that pay quite well.

Das it mayne. I went to college and got a worthless degree, spent 2 years after working a chit job for chit pay. Started in the trades @ 25 making $14/hr, have switched trades 2ร— since then, eventually landed in a pipefitter/HVAC union 5 years ago, and I'll make my breakout raise in one month. (~$35/hr + healthcare/pension/401k package totaling another ~$15/hr)

It was a rough 14 months, I'll say that. Nightshift too.....by myself. 4on/4off, 12 hours shifts. 7pm-7am. Wasn't really bad money for the area, especially with overtime/holiday pay. Got through it only because I saw that is was just the gateway to bigger and better.
