Ever think about how strange cooking is?
Putting food together in a certain way, heating it to high temperatures... then eating it
No other animals do that
Is there a link between the fact we cook food, and our place at the top of the food chain?

I believe our place at the top of the food chain is due to our ability to share knowledge and use such an expansive variety of tools, such as cookware.

Cooking meat lead to lower digestion time for meat consumption, thus more energy was beeing freed in the body to go towards the brain and its development. That's what caused brain mass to increase dramatically and thus everything else. However with increased mental capacity they began to understand better their environment and early sapiens had a very rich and varied diet probably the most complete and clean nutrition in human history

There actually is a big causal effect.
Cooking = less energy to digest.
It's why carnivores take a long nap after eating a large meal. I mean, we have 'rest & digest' as well but not to the same extent. Makes a big difference.

Yes I think about this sometimes. I freaking love to cook! I’ve been cooking my own meals nearly everyday since I was 15. It is amazing how different Combinations of foods, spices, herbs, and minerals can change a foods taste and make it so delicious. Lately I’ve been improving my skills a lot, experimenting with more expensive and higher quality meats, as well as organic everything.
I also want to start my own garden. Mainly for tomato’s and onions maybe something else idk yet.

it is pretty strange when u think about it. i keep thinking humans weren't meant to eat flesh as many people say but other animals eat flesh so.. unless we aren't meant to be like other animals
There is only one Hell: the one we live in now.

Actually, cooking might be older than homo sapiens. There were likely other animals who cooked, namely other apes of the genus homo, such as homo erectus and neanderthal. There is a link in that cooking requires sophisticated intelligence. The evolution of smaller molars is believed to have occured in conjuction with the discovery and widespread adoption of cooking.

Humans arent at the top of the food chain strictly speaking.
Were in the middle of the pack trophic level
Prolly cause were omnivores. Omnivore would seem to be the best cause you dont rely on solely meat. Can eat plants if you want

Next come the omnivores that eat a mixture of plants and herbivores. That's where humans rank, with a trophic level of 2.2. Above us are carnivores, such as foxes, that eat just herbivores. At the top of the scale are meat-eaters that don't have any predators themselves, such as polar bears and orca whales.
Instead, we sit somewhere between pigs and anchovies, scientists reported recently. That puts us right in the middle of the chain, with polar bears and orca whales occupying the highest position.
you might be right if you change the definition to something like brain power. humans are CAPABLE.. though something to think about: look at your hand, feet, teeth, etc. - you haven't developed any weapon like an apex predator. so, for instance, 1 on 1 in a cage with a bear you'd get your ass mauled. humans rely on strength in #'s, communication and brain powerInstead, we sit somewhere between pigs and anchovies, scientists reported recently. it would be prob be best to be an autotroph to be able to harvest the suns energy for your own food
