How come there are never single attractive females at AA meetings?

I've been going to AA regularly for several years now and gone to many different towns and city locations. I have yet to see any female in their mid 20's or 30's at any of these meetings. There are however good looking guys at some of these meetings (strong no homo). I find this shocking too because every female I've dated has pretty much been a raging alcoholic. What gives?

i never met any that are alcholics. some girls get drunk mid day usually by wine. wasted on weekends. like unable to walk on sidewalk. thats worst ive seen

never met one that needs a drink to get shakes though. thats probably why.

Because they don't acknowledge their addiction so they don't go to meetings? Seeing how many women have coped with lockdown chugging bottles (or boxes) of wine is crazy. And they likely don't think it (and the weight gain) is an issue.

They have easier lives due to greater social circles, easy access to sex, people overall treat them better and are more tolerant of their misbehavior. Being an attractive girl is life on easy mode.

Bc alcohol destroys your skin.

You probably have seen women in their 30s there, they just look 50.

I had 4 drinks in one night a week ago and spent the next day hungover as hell. Do not know how people drink regularly. One serving of bourbon or a truly once a week is plenty.

Yeah but it's still nice to look at them and not just older chain smoking guys at the meetings every now and then.

A couple of reasons: women don't feel comfortable around big groups of men, which most 12 step groups are. There are women only recovery groups for that reason. If you're already an addict the last thing you need is to feel unsafe or harrassed.

Other one is women don't typically acknowledge they have a serious problem and seek help themselves until later. There are tons of functional women alcoholics, but they don't ever go to recovery because it isn't seen as an issue. In fact, often spouses enable their behaviour to not have to deal with their issues.

Source: mother an alcoholic for 40 years, been to countless Al-anon and NA/AA meetings myself.
