$300/mo for a solo apartment in okay part of the city.

.25 cents per air train ride(Bangkok)

On a budget - $7000/Yr
Moderate - $15k
Lavish - $30k+

Those are quick numbers that I whipped up, but they can't be too far off. All assuming you have your own healthcare and chit provided.

Sauce - I was in Thailand for a month last year. Can EASILY get by on $10/day.

If you can work remotely, I would highly suggest it. You can always switch the scenery up. If you want a city go to Bangkok. If you want to party go to Bangkok or Phi Phi Islands. Phuket is super overrated imo, but it was still a good time and beaches are cool. Go to Chaing Mai and see some Elephants.

I went with my gf so I can't report on the women situation.

brb quick cheap flight to Bali, Kuala Lumpur, Vietnam, Singapore, or 3-4 hour flights to Japan and China. It would definitely be cool to do for a year.

However, the visa is the thing. I'm pretty sure Americans can only stay 1 month and can extend it 1 more month without having a work sponsorship. They are trying to crack down on people who stay 29 days, fly to Singapore to refresh the visa, and come back.
