Quitting caffeine

I've been taking caffeine for 3 years daily. Have tried quitting in the past for a couple of days then just jump right back into it.

I've been taking 200-400mgs of caffeine a day since these 3 years.

I decided to go cold turkey. I'm on day 3 on withdrawing from caffeine and tbh it's brutal.

Day 1, felt so emotionally flat, anxious and more tired than I've been in a long time. I felt so sleepy that it felt like someone gave me some sleeping pils, I just fell asleep for 2 hours at 2pm. It felt groggy and gross

Day 2: I was feeling less tired/sleepy but just flat/bored/nothing can entertain me and the anxiety would go up and down throughout the day.

Day 3: So I'm on day 3 now and tbh I have more energy, was able to go to the gym and work out. But my anxiety is really high today and I feel bored.

The main reason I'm wanting to quit caffeine is because the anxiety I get from it is actually getting too unmanageable, I'll find my self catastrophising over the smallest things and dwell on it for days on end, I know I never used to be this way 3 years ago, so I'm attributing this mainly to my caffeine use

Anyone can relate to these feelings? I find my self spiraling into anxiety today.

I am an avid user. IMO it’s not bad. I don’t smoke, I drink maybe once a month.

Call it cope maybe it is.

However I went cold turkey for 3 weeks when I went to Asia last year, and to be honest, even after years of caffeine abuse, the withdrawal never became unbearable.

Don’t get me wrong I had pulsating headaches, but I’ve had worse. It was just a consistent headache + lethargy for about 7 days until things started to clear up.

Entering the second week I felt a lot better. I ended up going back to it because I never really found an issue. There’s no studies on caffeine losing people years of their lives. There’s worse out there.

I will say that working out during that time made me feel immensely better.

BOL OP.

the anxiety is the worst imo, ruins my days. makes me far less productive, and the entire reason for me taking caffeine in the first place was for productivity lol

I drank a cup of coffee everyday since I was 13. Stopped cold turkey 2 years ago after I started having severe panic attacks.

As much as I love coffee, my quality of life significantly improved without caffeine on a daily basis. I hardly need caffeine anymore. I drink coffee more for the taste rather than the energy boost these days.

Bro get this, I was a daily caffeine drinker for my workouts. 200-350mg a day nearly everyday. Been drinking crazy preworkouts since I was like 17 so 7 years ago. Well a few weeks ago I got massively sick for 3 entire weeks. Zero exercise which also meant zero caffeine. My state of mind changed so much. My reality just became calmer. No underlying anxiety, not even a slight buzz of anxiety just sitting there feeling like there was something I needed to do. Felt really awesome.

I started drinking it again just because it helps so much for workouts lol and that icky anxious underlying feeling is back. So I might cut it out again and find some alternative.

You will feel so much better without it brah

as an anxietycel, it's a double edged sword, obviously makes your anxiety worse, but feel very flat/low energy without it.

I drank an energy drink everyday for years. Had to stop because of the anxiety (feeling of dread) and muscles knots from being unable to relax

My anxiety levels have been very high the last few years, didn't know caffeine had such a big impact on anxiety. Thought my anxiety was mostly caused by work and other mental issues, should try to cut the caffeine then I guess?

Depends on whether I have to go to work or not, but usually around 5 cups + preworkout on gym days

so thats like 500mg of caffeine and on gym days probably 700mg? not surprised you are suffering a lot of anxiety. if the anxiety is too unmanagable id recomend trying to get off. ive noticed since coming off i get spikes of anxiety even on day 3. i dont want to go through this ordeal again, ive noticed my sleep is deeper and more restful since ceasing caffeine too, even so early into it

I guess I'll skip that can of Redbull I opened an hour ago. Gonna try getting off cold turkey, curious on the withdrawal symptoms. Hope they're not too bad... Good luck brah!

Caffeine legit ruined my life srs

Now I have all these anxiety problems i never had before. At one point i was drinking two rockstars a day to feel normal. I’ve been sober for 8 months (well I had a little soda here and there but i would say less than 1g of caffeine in 8 months).

Try ashwaghanda , it gives me energy but its not a stimulant
-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

-I'd rather live life saying "I failed" than "I could have"
