"Youre scared of the flu"cels keep forgetting about the middle path (srs)

I'm not scared of getting Covid. I don't think I'm at any risk of dying from it.

BUT I still don't want to get it - it sounds fukken terrible. The people I know who've had it all say it was the sickest they've been in years. That doesn't sound like a fun time to me. Sure, you could have zero symptoms, but you could also get knocked on your ass for a week. So I take a few very simple precautions.

When I do our shopping, I wear a mask. After that, I take it off and go on with my life.

I'm not "scared" of poison ivy either but I still put on long pants when I'm going in the woods.

What a strangely politicized thing in the US, that not wanting to get sick (even if I don't think it's fatal, or a risk to me at all) makes you a pussy.

Dont you know the misc brah? Its either black or white in here, there are no grey areas. You either think corona is a political bull**** hoax, or you think its the apocalypse. No inbetween because fuk it.
"The flowers bloom, then wither... The stars shine and one day become extinct. This earth, the sun, the galaxies and even the big universe, someday will be destroyed. Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

yup i'm more worried about the chronic conditions. like, if I ended up with chronic fatigue syndrome that a lot of people get, I would just disappear from society.

imagine just being chronically fatigued, no one can pinpoint why. everyone will just start to get annoyed by you, your physique will deteriorate, you will lose your job, your girl...everything.

fuk that.

Yeah it kicked my ass lol sickest I’d been in like 8 years, I was so cocky didn’t think it was a threat at all tbh

Something also to consider is we don’t know the long term implications of catching it. Maybe nothing, maybe something.

Difference is you get the flu and your immune system says "Oh hey, I remember you." and gets to work. With COVID it says "Who the fuk are you?" and doesn't know how to react. That's why there is inflammation all over the body because of the hyper reaction your immune system has. All the people I've known to have experienced symptoms said they would rather have the flu any day over COVID.

Yep, had it this year, it sucked. Was shivery and achy for a few days - was not once scared for my life, but I wouldn't recommend it.

except thats not how it works, there are multiple strains of the seasonal flu every year and if you get a strain you're not vaccinated against, you can be bed sick for weeks feeling like youre going to die. Your immune system wont say "oh hey i remember you", it will "aww fuk bye who tf are u". We as a society just accepted the flu, gonna have to do the same with covid

I have asthma & have had pneumonia it was horrible & I got even sicker in December when I got back from norhern Italy. (likely covid) It was 10 days of peak sickness and dry cough and unable to breath very well but never once
did I think I would die.

Will avoid getting sick if I can but won't get injected with a rushed vaccine to save me a few days of misery.
Worst case scenario is I die, plenty of things worse than death.

I haven't had a flu vaccination in over a decade and not only have I gotten the flu in that time, they're clearly not versions of the flu I was vaccinated against. Still wasn't sick for any longer as usual nor were they more intense. The body is a complex machine and it has to have some kind of marker retention.

It is alpha to go against anyone. Plus points if it's the government.

I am fairly certain these types are the most scared and are locked away in their rooms waiting for the "vaccine".

The media is all "muh science" and "orange man needs to listen to science" but they are quick to jump on any unproven assumption about covid if it paints the virus as more severe. This whole thing is a joke and these manipulated neckbeards patting themselves on the backs for being good boys drinking in the MSM koolaide are idiots.

They have no proof that you can get it multiple times. Their latest "study" that they are claiming provides support to the idea that you can get it more than once is they found only 5% of spain had antibodies for it. Ok so what, maybe not as many people in spain had it as they thought.

its because it hits everyone differently, just like covid. Tons of elite athletes got covid (NBA, NFL, etc) and most were asymptomatic other then things like loss of smell/taste.

It's the same thing with the flu, many people get hit really hard, many don't. Really the major difference is we don't have a vaccine for covid, and that that covid is way more contagious

i agree with you on that, but, i dont think we need to wear masks as they dont do anything. i dont think anyone unless the obvious suspects thinks its not atleast something to be alert about.

And most crtics of the response of the virus is the lockdown, and the fact its going to destroy many of the lives of the living.

I never said you could get COVID more than once. I'm talking about the flu which you can get multiple times which provides your immune system with a method of attack. It's seen the flu, it's familiar with the flu, therefore knows how to fight it off.

any non n-95 mask wont protect you from the virus, only from spreading it via coughing/sneezing. the thing i see people take their mask off when sneezing, or wearing it on their chin fukkin lmao.

theres no fukkin way im taking the vaccine if it comes out in jan 2021, i get the flu vaccine yearly, im not an anti-vaxxer, but ill take my 99.6% chance of living if getting it over a vaccine that can have potential life changing side effects

I don't want to get it either, it does sound horrible....but I am willing to take my chances and carry on with life rather than hiding out indefinitely or injecting my family with a rushed vaccine.

That which doesn't kill you will only make you stronger.

Best case is zero symptoms, worse case for healthy, non onese or elderly, then you get a cough.

Also, don't know why the media is so afraid to report that obese people get it way worse. Makes sense since they are unhealthy.

While I'm all for anecdote the bottom line is its worse than the flu but not enough for me to be concerned. They touted death rates t 10x the flu, that was the predicted, in reality its about 2-3 times as fatal and as such the death rate is around .2-.3 instead of the .1 for the flu. Wearing masks wont make it go away we still have h1-n1 floating around and I got that over a decade ago. TLDR yes its deadly but not enough to change our daily lives because of it. I had a friend die last year of the flu healthy and at age 30 felt sick but not too bad went to sleep and never woke up, it happens. So yes its a real thing but no its not scary enough for me to think the general healthy population need to walk around in fear of something much less scary than its touted. Also on masks they are not effective at preventing transmission they "could help" by catching droplets but if you have it and were next to each other and im breathing the masks is not stopping you form getting infected. So it doesn't make much sense to me to have healthy people go everywhere in masks because they might help prevent the spread fo something you probably don't have that is only killing people at a rate of .2 -.3%.
