Horror movie before bed!

Misc I recommend you watch this movie named The Witch. It's been out a few years but it's better than most of the new movies out there. (Midsommar, meh)

Skip to :50, this movie does not rely on jumpscares bby.

Would thou like to live... Deliciously?

What did you think of the scene in my OP? The movie is heavily based on the 7 deadly sins.

Repped this man of culture and high society.

Indeed he did! The mermaid scene still gives me chills.

I guess that's the difference. I had no expectations going into midsommar, didnt even see the trailer and I saw hereditary after that.

Imagine your mind, no, your soul. Being brought down to a form of total disregard, disrepair and complete submission. Only to sign it all away to submission of pure agony and pain, to Satan himself. That's what this scene represents. This is what horror is all about. Not a single jumpscare is in this movie. The director knows his audience and knows better than to play with us.

I have been nerding out and read a few novels these past two weeks on the 7 sins. Dante's Inferno is one you probably heard of. I cannot stress enough how so well put together this movie is. Pure dread. You hurt when she hurts, this is a must watch, and I give my word that you will enjoy this one. My posts never draw a crowd but if I can convince atleast one miscer to watch a great movie and enjoy it I have done my job as a brother to you all.

My second recommendation is also based on the 7 deadly sins. This is shaky cam footage done correctly. I was in complete shock upon completing it, that good I must say.

As Above, So Below (2014)

You will be surprised, and the lead protagonist is a complete babe.

I thank you guys for taking the time to reply to my thread from the bottom of my heart. I am so excited that I can show you guys the movies that I like, specifically in the horror genre, thanks again.

Luis

Did we just become best friends? Mandy blew me away, wow. The false prophets acting performance in particular was amazing. Cage was just the icing on top of the cake. Also, Mandy was a total LTC babe and easy on the eyes.

Nice! I have a friend here in TX that raises goats and he said they are the creepiest animals ever, with their insect-like eyes, not to mention the ability to turn their necks around like The Exorcist, lol. Total demons. Cute tho

you didnt like midsommar but what did you think of Ari Aster's other film Hereditary? No matter what you think of his films the way he can bring visceral emotional agony from his actors is spellbinding.

what did you think of IT Follows?

Ari Aster deserves all the praise he gets, and more. The way he stirs my emotions is something I admire to the highest form. You are right. I stated my reason for my remark about Midsommar above. I liked it but not as much as I thought I would.

Hereditary was amazing to say the least. How Toni Collette didn't win an Oscar or a nomination cemented the fact that the Oscars are a complete facade. She was incredible.

It Follows will always be in the list of my top horror recommendations. Originality at its finest.
