I do more than that but 90% of my life is spent at work in an office/warehouse or inside on the computer browsing the internet. It seems like a scam. Why do we have to work for 40+ hours when i can just get all of the work done in half the time?

This is incorrect. Working in 2020 is modern day slavery and it is a societal issue. Not an individual issue. The vast majority of people are owned by capitalism. You cannot just tell everyone to drop out and live on a farm lol. Most people are just stuck in this madness but told to conform to it.
