I'm looking at the reality. We don't need to work 40 hours for stagnant pay. Capitalism is flawed and people would be happier if they could work less, even if that meant a pay cut. But being forced to work 40 hours does not make any sense if you can just get the work done and go home. They own you though.

Kept on working out even when working 80h. No gf during that startup phase though, that would have been tough. Later, started dating again, eventually met my wife and retired when my second kid was on the way.
