What do people over 30 talk about all day?

If you don't have a kid or watch netflix what is their to talk about? Chances of meeting people over 30 who have similar interests outside of this is rare. Also i'm not even going to mention politics. People talk about this as well and i don't even get involved.

Also i try to talk to people all the time but i feel like everyone older than me is the same person. They don't want to have a conversation. They just use you to ramble on about certain things.

Off the top of my head, we talk about work and careers, property markets, general news, relationship issues, gossip, sports, diet and exercise, future holidays and travel plans, reminiscing about past travel, house renovations/maintenance, beauty and hairdressing advice, etc etc

How do you expect me to talk about this all day though? Last things i talked about were Smash Mouth and TOOL which was awkward and what kind of steak people like. I can't do this all day man. I see people talking constantly though.

For small talk, I use the “FORD” approach. This is just meaningless banter with no real intimacy.

As far as my friends and family, those conversations are a lot more intimate. “Have you ever considered committing to not lying?” Detailed approaches to setting and achieving goals. Using hindsight of previous adversities to discuss ways of being better in the future. I just open up man. I love it, and they love it too. Everything comes out on the table.


Also, you don’t have to talk all day man. You don’t have to distract yourself with idle conversation when simply being in the moment, sharing yourself, your time, and attention with another person will achieve closer relationships. You can be and just be quiet.

People tell me about their kids or SO all the time and i don't know what to say. People just ramble man. That's why i isolate. Here is something a lot of people don’t do, and you might enjoy it.

Try talking about them. Don’t look at it as rambling. It is a conversation with another person who appreciates you so much they want to share themselves with you. (And also they are narcissistic and just love talking about themselves, but for the purposes of this exercise, ignore that)
