Mirin everybody in this thread, good job fellas.

Been a while since I've done a proper cut, want to get lean this time. Never been below 10% in my adult life, so it'd be neat to have non-flexed abs. Started around 205lb in April and down to about 180lb currently. Looking forward to posting pics of progress so far once I dip below 180. I'm thinking I'll be done close to 170, but not enough experience to say. Haven't been lifting consistently for a couple years now, so not as huge as most of y'all, but excited to be rid of the flab.

Good luck all!

Don't go by the scale to determine when you will acquire The Shredz.

Use pics or the mirror.
She approached with her hand extended,. I slowly stepped back. "No" she said. "I just want to shake your hand. You're amazingly gorgeous." As she walked by me she copped a biceps feel.

A few people have asked me how I train, so I started a log! Come check it out sometime if you’d like!

https://forum.obnoxiousbrutes.com/showt...hp?t=178728101

I like old school training. I am inspired by the aesthetics of the golden era, Frank Zane mostly! Hope everyone is well!

Damn, good work gents. Had forgotten all about this thread but I'm finally hopping in. I'm 6'2 and started at ~190lbs and now I'm at 207 pretty consistently. Overall pretty happy with my current physique as I try to gain weight. However, I feel my delts and traps are really lacking and my back is wide but not thick enough. I lift at home and have access to a barbell, bench, rack and pull-up bar but no machines. My main back exercise is heavy barbell rows but I've been thinking about a dip belt for weighted pull-ups. Has anyone had success with that? And any recommendations for delts other than OHP?

Spoiler!

Do you have dumb bells or resistance bands?

Weighted pull ups are good. You can also do single arm barbell rows/t bar rows/meadows rows with a barbell. My favorite for back is 2 arm Db rows. Slide the db’s up your legs, row to the hip, and contract the lower lats hard. Not a commone exercise anymore but it’s great

For shoulders, zpresses, landmines presses, and heavy partial side raises

Nah, no dumb bells but I can get resistance bands pretty easily. Was actually looking at some to use for mobility work not too long ago. What did you have in mind?

Thanks for the tips, man! I'll look into T-bar rows and landmines. I've never really done them and have always used the more conventional bb rows and ohp/side raises. So the reason you do partial on side raises is to isolate delts rather than doing full rom which incorporates traps, right?

It’s just another variation. Allows you to use heavier weights. I like sets of 30-35 reps on them. Look up “John meadows partial side raises”

Thanks man will check out the vid. I like Meadows' content. I think I need to just do a ton more volume for delts. You're saying 30+ whereas I was doing sets of 6-8.

We have a similar body type genetically. Torso dominant. Chest and back develops easier than delts and arms. Delts are one of my weakest muscle groups. Those partial side raises along with single arm leaning side raises helped a lot

The bands can be used similarly as DBs

Front, lateral and rear raises for the delts.

I agree. My chest and back seem to grow and look far more developed than arms and shoulders. Tbh, not a bad problem to have. How long have you been training?

Ah, I see. Never really considered that for anything other than biceps lol.

Some photos of progress thus far, mostly unflexed and in morning w/out pump:

April 5, 2020, ~205lb:
(front)https://imgur.com/wSP6Qyn
(back)https://imgur.com/WJwQ54U
(side)https://imgur.com/0aPWm45
(abs flexed)https://imgur.com/iICyvvr

July 17, 2020, ~181lb
(front)https://imgur.com/Kfr9dxl
(back)https://imgur.com/V7Ax2tm
(side, abs flexed)https://imgur.com/PxEjp6o

Getting back to where I'm finally enjoying lifting again, would've started my cut around this body fat % a couple years ago, but just gotta keep going now so I can build a little size back after.

Been training in general for over 10 years. First 7 years or so I was lifting for sports. Took a break for a couple years to pursue boxing. Past couple years have been focused on bodybuilding/powerlifting. I’m working on bringing up my delts for an upcoming show.

Have you incorporated those apple fritters into your diet yet?

The apple fritters is from the old Spring Cutter Crew (SCC) threads.
Fish used to eat them and still get shredded.

Shredz threads always bring the motivation--I think, I may have tried to pop in one of those threads once, but just didn't have it in me to see it through to completion at the time.

Guess we'll all have an apple fritter tn in honor of our boy Fish

I just started a log and will be updating later today with some shoulder work. Check it out if you’d like man![/QUOTE]Nice, just took a look at the log. I think my biggest failure when it comes to delts has been simply doing too little volume. Looks like everything you do for delts is 8+ whereas I usually top out around 8 reps for side raises, and usually i do sets of 6. I'll try higher volume for a few weeks and see how it feels/works.

Damn, 10 years is a long time. I also dabbled in weights while playing sports previously but only started dedicating myself to strength training about 3 years ago. I'm teaching myself the olympic lifts now and would love to be able to compete in the future. All the pulling and overhead work should help with delts and back development. I still do a dedicated shoulder day and bench day and then throw in lighter OHPs on the days i do olympic lifts. Fortunately since I'm really just working on technique I have the energy to throw in some strength work (OHP, squats, rows) after most of my technique sessions.
