Misc Runners, How Many Running Shoes Do You Own at a Time?

Do you own just one and wait for it to die before getting a new one? Or do you own more than 1 and in circulation?

Also, do you stick to a brand/model you trust or you try different one every time?

I’ve always kept one pair. I should get a second for trail runs. My intent is to keep running shoes until they’ve had around 500 miles on them.

Typically have about 2 in rotation, a 3rd for lifting/general fitness (a standard nike sneaker, not those weird flat squatting shoes lol). I never have worn trail running sneakers but I know most people will have one.

I've stuck with Saucony the past 5 years. Although the new triumph 17s, after about 80 miles, still aren't fitting like I want them to. Might make the switch to a new brand soon. Just threw away 1 of my 2 pairs.

Only 1 pair usually, for road running. Might pick up some trail shoes for snow running.

Brooks Glycerin 17 is what I use.

Jog over 1,242 miles (2,000km) a year so usually I have about 10 pairs.

My courses vary including black top, trail and beach. Sometimes I choose a pair depending on what kind of surface I'm going to run on that day.

Also even in rainy season I can run without repeatedly wearing the same wet shoes. Copper coins are for sterilization and deodorization of wet shoes.

Currently rotate w/ 3, but I own at least 10 pairs dedicated for running.

3 in rotation: Zoom Fly, Pegasus 36, Pegasus 37. I run 30 miles/week.
We’re all gonna make it.

I own two right now.

ASICS gel nimbus 21 and a pair of light weight Reebok’s for my tempo runs.

I wear which ever suits my planned run at the time.

If you want speed and have strong legs, light weight shoes are better.

If you have weak legs and need a lot of support/ cushioning, get thick soles shoes. Hoka One One is famous for manlet sneakers. Lol

You're still showing your avi around here lol? Ever confirm your height?

Anyway I have 2 in rotation, one for road running, one for trail. Minimalist "barefoot" shoes.

Lol at you small mind, dude. Shame on you for joining the mob in a samsbolton thread by the way.

Anyways, the mods and their alts win by technicality. I can no longer make threads. They will never take away my height, weight and VO2 Max. Jakes on them for needing to resort to “access denied on this server”.

But this thread is not about me. So save your lameness. Only the alts and hug-group victims see take comfort in your posts trying to put me down. Luckily you get a response from me ONLY because I can no longer make my own threads.

More than 10 pairs, serious. That's not counting running shoes I bought and didn't like for running. When I get a running shoe I really like that are not that expensive, I buy a bunch of them before they discontinue it.

Yes, I love minimalist my favorite brand is New Balance, a bit wider at the toe.

Unfortunately here in Japan boom was over and couldn't find many. So when I find one I usually purchase two pairs of the same design.

Since I started wearing the minimalist I've never hurt my knees again. Although toe landing needs a little practice, once you get used to it you can't go back to thick heels.

i'm a walker. about 7 miles a day outside every day. i only have 1 pair at a time. i find the 20+ hour rest is enough. i always buy the latest Nike Pegasus - they've been around for 37+ years. i replace them every 3 months which is about 600 miles. $120 MSRP but usually $100 after discounts.

Usually 1. Or 1.5. Meaning 1 basically new and 1 that’s used some. I don’t like having to wait for a new pair in the mail when the one is completely shot.

Only have a kinda used pair now though. Admittedly I do less running now though.

I have 4 pairs atm; 1 for road/track, 1 for day to day wear but I can run in if I feel like it, and 2 for trails

I have new balance trail runners that have 300+ miles on them and a pair of saucony trails I just bought with <15 miles on them which the insoles got loose and bunched up on a 9 mile run I just did so not too happy with them.

I don't feel any hate from you, and I don't hate you IRL either. But on this forum you aren't a super likable guy. You've built yourself a reputation as being the "manlet" guy with endless threads/posts about it...I honestly think you're lying about your height. Not based on you as a person because I don't know you. But anyone who posts thousands of "I hate manlet" comments then refuses to confirm their height...reeks of bs.

Also - you're trying to help young people learn about themselves and life?? What?? Who do you think you are, some kind of guru?

And what if that young person is short??

That's what I dislike most about you, not the manlet stuff, the fact that you think you have the right to "teach" people...what if no one wants to learn from you? Or did your tier 1 intelligence never consider that possibility?

Nice! I'll have to look for those...I've tried some minimalist shoes with traditional shape but honestly nothing has worked as well for me as Vibram Five Fingers. They're so good I put up with the chit I get for wearing them haha. But I only wear them for running, not lifting or casual wear.

Similarly hard to find now though, their boom kind of ended so can't find them in stores anymore...thank goodness I can still order them off Amazon.

And agreed about the toe strike - whenever I try to run in a traditional cushioned shoe it's hell.

I only have one but I think I'm gonna get a second pair for running in the winter.

The idea of running in the winter is so HNGGGGGG, never have but I will this year.
