Is anyone else numb to the fact that you will die and the tour is over?

5+ years ago I was scared chitless about dying since everything was new to me at the time, and there was a world of experiences waiting for me once I came of age.

Now that I’ve had a taste of the real world, I just don’t mind death anymore. I’m not suicidal at all, though.

Any of you guys feel this way?

I can't wait to die. Imagine not having to put up with any of this bullsh*t any more and getting to be done. It's gonna be one hell of a gift. But don't cheat your way to it (by suiciding) or you just ruin it and diminish the awesomeness of the gift.

People like to say they're not afraid of death and then they'll turn around and act like it matters when someone they know dies.

There's a very strong social requirement to behave a certain way about death and it's absolutely ludicrous when you look at how we're told to deal with all other forms of the loss of a relationship.




Your girlfriend breaks up with you and you cry about it you'll be told by the bros that there are plenty of other women and stop being a *******... But if she commits suicide and you say the same thing all of a sudden you're a sociopath.

Yeah I feel you on that. I've never really made a big deal about death, even when it happened to family members. I think the only way to get a significant response from me was if someone from my immediate family died, but even then I think that I would keep composure from the outside.

The many ways in which you can die or pretty frightening. Death itself, at least at 35 and having a reasonable number of decades possibly left, doesn't seem as scary are the actual dying itself.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

TBH, could be a false hope, but I was hoping as we get older our generation would have more societal accepted and painless methods of self induced euthanasia for when we're like 80+ and having organ issues and uncontrollable pains.

I’m not scared of dying but it does depress me sometimes.

Blows my mind how ignorant the average person is over death. You could wake up tomorrow and find your leg doesn’t work getting out of bed and fall over. Go to the doctor, turns out you have ALS and will die within the next few years. Or you could die of an undiagnosed brain aneurysm. Or find out you have cancer.

Or you could drive to work and be killed in a freak accident.

People don’t care about these things until it happens to them, and then it’s too late. Stay safe brahs. Life can change in an instant.

Yeah. It's pretty daunting. One day life will go in raw and that is that.

It had a pretty big impact on me when I changed my thinking from "some day it is going to happen" to "there is no rule aginst is being today". It changed the value of the moment for me.
