There aren't ENOUGH cops (srs)

Here's some numbers from some guy on reddit who did the math:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ProtectAndS...hin_blue_line/
There are 117,000 gang members in the City of Chicago.

That's 4.3% of the total population of over 2.7 MILLION people in Chicago.

There are 12,515 police officers employed by the City of Chicago. Just 0.5% of the total population.

To cover 234 square miles.

Divided among three overlapping shifts (on a normal week).

Accounting for vacation/furlough, injury, court time, paperwork, retirement, and special assignments, the city is lucky to muster 3,600 officers on a shift.

To cover 234 square miles.

To serve and protect 2.7 MILLION people.

There are 117,000 gang members in the City of Chicago.

Let those numbers sink in.

Sleep well, Chicago.
So in Chicago there's 1 cop per 225 people and 1 gang member per 15 people.

And these absolute MORONS want to defund the police.

I don't know what the channel was on Youtube as it was part of another video, but it was of a guy going around what you would assume are very poor areas just looking at the people and buildings in the video, and asking the residents what they thought of defunding the police.

They were all saying basically "No, that's stupid and we need more police here. Gang members are destroying our neighborhoods and killing our children."

But I mean most of us already know the people saying defund police haven't probably ever relied on the police either.

You and the defund the police people are both morons. This is the problem, because this is what this chit leads to, ******* bootlickers like you who will advocate for more police funding and more police patrols and cars and armor etc, essentially only further increasing the power, presence, and capability of the largest, most heavily funded gang in America.

And the defund the police people are fukin retards as well, bcuz that money is never going back into the hands of taxpayers, and will be wasted instead on welfare, wars, bureaucracy and pensions.

Calls the police a "gang"

Yeah saw that video, just another example that this movement is being spearheaded by white sheltered progressive kids thinking they know better than black people who actually live in those communities

Who would want to sign up to be a cop nowadays? Constantly charged with protecting people who hate you, talk chit about you, and apparently can be sued for just doing the damn job they hired you to do.

the requirements to be a cop are too high here that it's not even worth trying. brb work so hard to get the requirements to have a super high stressful unrewarding job that doesn't pay that much.
There is only one Hell: the one we live in now.

Pension is based off years of service and rank. He was a chief.

Meanwhile my best friends dad makes 48k a year off his pension.

Strong comparing the top .05% of law enforcement to the rest of the force. You are a complete idiot and if I retire now as a sgt my pension is only 100k a year plus def comp plus social security plus my pension from my last job. O wait I’m doing it right

I agree, but there also aren't enough social workers, mental health resources, homeless shelters, etc. We as a society are failing to create a good social safety net in our society. A lot of the issues actually stem from organized crime siphoning funds too.

Our country is falling apart and we need to put people to work fixing it ASAP. Problem is the Dems and Reps love to argue and siphon funds to their buddies instead of actually addressing real issues.

A school shooting happens and they want to ban guns instead of really address the causes. A guy gets killed by police and they want to defund them instead of investing in more training. Our officers need our support to promote a community. If one gets out of line or isn't cut out for the job he needs to be removed from the force or given desk work.

OP, chiraq is chiraq because it is over-expanded as a city as they want to tax everyone as the city but offer no services. It deserves to die like Detroit. I have no sympathy for the established government there or the people who voted that power structure to exist. It is their own fault.

The California POST Entry Level Law Enforcement Test Battery, known as the PELLETB or PELLET B, is a language aptitude test that aims to determine if the candidate is ready to become a peace officer in the State of California. It checks language skills such as reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary to determine if the candidate has a good command of the English language.

The key to successfully passing the PELLETB lies in the proper preparation for the test. Once you get familiar with the test structure it will be easier for you to answer the questions. Practice can help you improve your English language knowledge. There are certain tricks and tips that can help you select the correct spelling or meaning of a word, even if you are unfamiliar with it. We offer a free Pass the PELLET B Webinar.

Pass the PELLET B

Below you will find a short guide about the structure of the test and how to study for each part, along with several sample questions that can give you an idea what to expect on the day of the test.
PELLETB format and scoring

The PELLETB comprises of three sections that aim to check the overall language skills of the candidate. The sections are ordered in the following way:

Writing ability section, which consists of three sub-sections each comprising of 15 questions. The first sub-section checks clarity. There are two sentences given and the test taker needs to identify, which one is written correctly. You need to look for common writing errors such as unclear references, misplaced modifiers, sentence fragments, and run‐on sentences. The second sub-section tests spelling. There is a sentence where one of the words is omitted and four different spelling options are provided. You need to choose the correct spelling. The third sub-section tests vocabulary. A given word in the sentence is underlined and you need to select the most accurate synonym or definition out of four options.
Reading ability section, which consists of two sub-sections. The first part is a reading comprehension tests with 20 questions. You need to read a given text, which may be one paragraph or one page long, and then select the correct answer from the multiple-choice questions. The second sub-section is a cloze test and covers forty items and consists of paragraphs, where the first and the last sentence are complete but every seventh word in the other sentences is omitted. You need to guess which the missing word is. The place of the word is indicated with dashes and the number of dashes corresponds to the number of letters in the word. There can be more than one word that fits the context and is accepted as a correct answer.
Reasoning ability section, which consists of 16 multiple-choice questions. You need to select the best answer based on the facts provided in the text. As a test taker, you need to identify patterns, relationships, ordered series of facts. Note: always answer the questions based only on the given information and not on your general knowledge or personal opinion.

The PELLETB is electronically scored based on the T-score. This means that the average score is 50. Any score below 40 is considered to be below average, while any above 60 is considered to be above the average. You need to score 42 or more in order to pass the PELLETB successfully. Note that the exam contains research questions that do not contribute to the final score. As a test taker, however, you are not aware which these questions are and therefore it is recommended to answer all questions, even if you need to guess the answer for some of them.

The score is valid for life, so to say, meaning that it has no expiration term. If you are moving to a new department, however, they are allowed to require that you retake the test.

If you have failed the PELLETB or you are unhappy with your result you can retake it but you need to wait 30 calendar days.

Writing ability section sample questions

Here is an example of the questions that you will need to answer for each of the writing ability sub-sections.

Clarity – there are two sentences and you need to choose, which is the most clearly written.

Bullet fragments were gathered by officers in envelopes.

also this, 100%. I live in Chicago, and have lived in west side. A law can always be passed to end it and public unions. Private unions - totally okay with. Public unions - bull ****.

pensions are a joke - and anyone who believes in pensions (especially run-away pensions) deserves what they get when the city in questions doesn't fund the pension and the pension collapses.

Yep, at least you have some sense. Thats my biggest issue, it's not "oppression", it's simply that I am being extorted by this group, the police, for what accounts to no benefits for me because I'm not a dipchit and know where to walk and how to defend myself, and if I do not pay these state taxes these very same *******s will sooner or later kick my door in for not paying my dues. Not really any different than the mafia "protecting" their neighborhoods from blacks and irish, while at the same time extorting, murdering and stealing from the very same people they are protecting.

inb4 "what a retard, wow, thats not how police work". Explain to me, why someone with far less accountability and far more power than me, is always going to be looking out for my best interest? You know if you have more than a couple hundred on you, and you get pulled over, they can and will steal that **** and never give it back, right? Happened to me more than once. Didn't know that having a taillight out meant I have to forfeit 800 dollars in cash.

True. The deeper problem is the source. Turned away from Elohim and disobey the commandments. You only get disaster after that, to that guy above. I bet hes an atheist though and well back to square one.
