From what I can recall reading (pubmed studies and the like) it seems like there are conflicting studies, where seemingly every other study has a different conclusion on whether it’s effective or not. It also seems like reasonable, normal people recognize this. It's a drug, a potentially life-saving one at that, and it deserves trials and good data to support a conclusion. But specifically to this thread, it's downright alarming but not one bit shocking.

And this. Studies have shown conflicting results. More studies need to be done to determine if it's safe and if it even helps.
