Should I grow dreadlocks?

Been pretty lucky that Im not receding too bad, so I have plenty enough hair to grow dreads. Im feeling more and more comfortable in my own skin these days. Do you think I should grow them out, are they still in these days? Im not really a rasta or anything but always felt like I wanted dreadlocks since I was a little kid.

I used to have shoulder length twist and rip dreads I did myself. Then I cut them to have high top dreads like in this picture.

I cut them off in February tho because they were getting old and dirty and people in the proffessional world kept underestimating me because of them. If you get them, I would suggest getting them done by a loctician if you have the money. It can be expensive. Otherwise it may take 1 year for them to form properly.

Edit: you may not be a Rasta, neither am I, but when I had dreads everyone assumed I was and that I smoked the weed, which I don't.

I've had dreads for nearly 10 years. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're in your late teens / early 20's when you're starting them. Weird for people to sit in a chair and get them braided in, two. Just let it happen naturally. Then get them fixed later.

Had dreads for 7 years and they were down past my waist

Lots of chicks have an obsession with dreaded guys and it'll help you pull poon like you wouldn't imagine

They take several years before they start to look decent though so tough out the first 2-3 years

You believe in the segregation of hair styles? That's retarded and petty.
