EDIT:

make sure you don't just get your tires balanced. Also do a roadforce check. This is a machine made hunter that checks the tires for other problems that a balance cannot do. Its about $80 and not many shops have this machine so make sure to ask for it. It can make a huge difference in ride quality.

I will say this though, there is more to it than just getting your tires balanced if you want a smooth and comfortable ride and long tire life.

Perfect timing actually.

I have a slow leak in one of my tires.

Usually keeps air for about 2 weeks before becoming completely flat again.

I can just throw some Fix-A-Flat in it, air it up, and be good to go right?

On cold tires, the tires lose PSI. On warmer tires(after you went for a drive) the PSI is higher. Its obvious you have a leak someone because tires should only lose about one PSI a month. Its recommended that you take the PSI reading during the morning when its cool or when you haven't drove for 3 hours. Be careful using the small cheap PSI gauge because if can be off by 5PSI vs a digital gauge. I don't know which is more accurate. I will have to contact a tire company engineer for this.

If you fill it up with goo, it will throw the balance of the entire car off and make your ride very uncomfortable and can damage your suspension parts.

When you feel the timing is right, you should get the cheapest pair of tires thats correctly sized for your car and have it balanced and check for ROADFORCE - this is important because many shopsdo not have this machine.

Tires are very important because its the only thing touches the road from your car. I just took a 1500mile road trip and there were blown tires everywhere(not exaggerating). Its very dangerous and will cost you a lot of time. A gentleman had a tire blown out and was stuck at the gas station for like 2 days in the middle of buttfk no where, lol.

Tire company engineer here. Tell me what you think about this: Koni adjustables. It’ll save us about 2 pounds. And it’ll give us better traction for the hole shot. This is your basic layout of the car and that’s pretty much what it could look like when it’s finished- red, green....

Sounds like you have a bent wheel. To test this quickly you can take off the wheel and then brush some water along the edge of the wheel and the tire, if bubbles start to form on either edge (inside or outside) that means your wheel is bent. You can repair for <$150 or replace it if it is in bad shape.

My two front wheels are pretty badly damaged from the crazy amount of potholes near my area, sucks but I can't do much about it other than drive carefully on bad roads.

OP, your advice is just get the cheapest reasonable tire right? Pretty sure I saw your first thread lol

take it off spray soapy water all over and wherever it bubbles is your leak

might just be a crack in the valve rubber or something

Probably whoever last changed the tire didn't do a good enough job cleaning the rim.
If there's a bit of rust and chit on the rim where the bead seats that will happen.

Yes, but make sure you know what you are getting. If the tires say 40k miles, then expect it to last that much if you do things perfectly, such as checking PSI every couple of weeks in the morning, rotating every 4k miles. But when you buy the tire, make sure you have it balanced AND roadforce checked - this is a machine many shops do not have. Its about $60-80 to do. Its a machine made by HUNTER roadforce. Make sure to ask or verify this for yourself.

The reason why I recommend cheap tires is again, because you will encounter nails within the working life of the tires. If one tire gets punctured and you can't repair it, you can't simply just put on one new tire - that might throw the balance of your car off. Just replace tires every 2-3 years. That way, the tires are newer, safer, and cheaper. Of course, this isn't written in stone and you should do the calculations for yourself with some of the ideas I present here.

You will not notice tolerance staggering with RoadForce unless your tire has a substantial deficiency. Wouldn’t call it worth the money and would use it as a last resort. I’ve RoadForced my tires after getting them 0.0z and noticed zero difference.
