Cops kill people of all races. By far these people are usually criminals.

B- refunding the police really is a bad idea because people are unwilling to step up into that void if the police are cut

I agree we should not defund police. They could shift some funds for different things, but "abolish police" is nonsense. As far as why they haven't cracked down, it's fear of appearing racist. Same reason Trump hasn't declared martial law and shot people. TBH they should have cracked down hard at the start, but not for political ends. There is a god damn pandemic. Nobody should be in large gatherings, period. I blame Trump for this because he could have done some executive order to try to reform police brutality or some shyt. Trump could have gone in front of the country and said black lives matter. It wouldn't have cost him anything. He likes to stir the pot though. And here we are.

At the end of the day, it is trash leadership form our mayor, governor, and president that got us here. Because none of them had the balls to be the big man and lead. However, I am pleased with Kate Brown's actions on covid aside from the protests. Oregon has done well overall.

How do you place blame on Trump when the first two layers that should have taken care of it are the mayor and the governor, both libs?

You can't do an executive order on police brutality. Each state has its own standards and training and the states are the ones who have to address it. To expect the president to act on a national level is to take a step towards a national police force

If Trump had gone up and said 3 words and pushed for an order to fight police brutality, there would have been zero protests. And yes, the local govt failed as well, but Trump has been stirring the pot and "owning the libs" irresponsibly. It has caused a lot of anger and division.

Of course there would be protests. When Obama was president there were protests over this same chit. C'mon man, you and I have had several disagreements in the past where you hold up your end, but you're not even trying today.

The fact the protests in Portland and Seattle are still raging when they've mostly calmed down in other places is because the side saddle riding mayors and governor's there are far left wing and are actively feeding the protests. Nothing Trump could say would make any difference.
