What the fuk is going on on Wall Street?

The US economy contracted at the fastest rate on record in Q2.

32.9% to be exact.

We're sitting within 10% of the Dow's all time high, on the heals of the worst quarter ever.

This is fine

It is going to be interesting these next few months/years.

Stock prices and valuations really shouldn't swing that wildly from shorter-term, basically uncontrollable events. Companies are valued based on their projected earnings / cash flow / profits over the long term, the entire life of the company

This is really the whole concept behind value investing

My stocks all went up yesterday and are all down today. I need to stop looking at them because I'm in for the long run anyway. Never look at my Schwab account which is up a few K but my friend got me into Robinhood so I put a few hundred in and really starting to hate the daily updates heh.

Yeah it's kinda fun to watch but becomes exhausting. I have long-term holds as well but still watch them daily

Finally looked at my Schwab account (Was with USAA but they sold all their stock stuff to Schwab) and it was up 1.5k but 10 days prior I saw that I was up 3k lmao. Ever since then I just stopped looking since that account is just for long term.

I wonder how large and juicy the bulge bracket banks' derivatives books are right now?
"The manlet is a savage beast that knows no moral bound. After falling in disgrace to a manmore, a ravaged manlet would not hesitate to come from behind and land a sucker punch/ swing with a rock to the back of a manmore's head. They are ruthless and you need to spend some more time in the gutter to even begin trying to comprehend what goes on in their minds."

Without the Fed's intervention, and what is basically corporate welfare, the stock market would be in the absolute chitter.

Our government has decided to take from everyone(through QE and low interest rates) to prop the market.

They've been doing this chit since the 2007/2008 crash.
