i also think it's tough for women because they have to fight the stigma of being the old spinster. the constant prodding from friends and family of "when are you going to get married?!" Not everyone is capable of that. My dad was like that. Women were like furniture to him. He liked to have them around and look pretty but he wasn't interested in any deep connection with them.
