It's too expensive to live in Australia

I'm not going to spend 70% of my paycheck every week on my mortgage for the next 30 years.

Being poor must be tough.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Is Oz that bad? I was planning on moving out there from the UK at some point.

Can't be worse than how it is in London or the South East of the UK in general.

LOL....

I got some real bad news for you bro.

Let's put it this way...

I live in Sydney.

I'd need to save for another 4 years. Every single cent that's not spent on fuel, food, public transport, insurances (NOT EVEN PAYING RENT) to be able to afford a deposit.

If you're paying rent on top of that? HA. Good luck.

I can afford a deposit on a 3 bedroom house in Newcastle (only just looked at Newcastle because my dad's originally from the North) by the end of the year.

You'd walk through shopping centres as there'd be Asian pop up booths.

No English writing whatsoever anywhere to be seen.

They're real estate developers/agents and they only sell to Asian clients. If you're white/black/anything other than Asian they will not speak to you.

Yeahhhhhhhhh that sounds like a real cool way of running things Australia. F*cking utter joke.

When I was out of high school my first full time job was working at a stockbroking company. Eventually the company branched out into cash accounts linked to these stockbroking accounts and people had the option to make a deposit when they opened up their trading account.

The amount of Xu Ji Yuen's who were 18/19 at the time and were depositing $400,000+ thousand was absolutely f*cking insane.

Pandering to China has and will continue to ruin this country for future generations of Australians who will never be able to buy their own home in their own country.

Past governments can go f*ck themselves for what they've done.

Nah, if you're crying about not making enough monopoly dollars, you certainly would be poor if you had to make real dollars.

Government strangles local people and businesses with massive taxes and red tape while simultaneously allowing a free for all by foreign buyers. The cost of living here is ridiculous.

We pay 30-40% income tax. Then tax on most things we buy. On top of that a 10% sales tax on the tax and cost of things we buy.

If you earn a decent amount you have to pay Medicare and have private health or be slugged another few thousand in taxes.

Can confirm Sydney is expensive as fuk.

OP you need to get someone like your parents to be guarantors to avoid mortgage insurance etc. Also take a joint loan with your partner, those are two ways to shave off the waiting time but yes be prepared to wage cuck for 30 yrs.
