Khal drogo vs Mountain, who'd have won? Game of thrones bruhs gtfih

These sissys killed drogo off in just season 2 but if drogo and mountain fought each other 1v1 on just open field, who'd have won?

Mountain wore plate armour. That Dothraki curving scimitar weapon is completely useless against solid steel armour. Mountain likely had inferior skills to Drogo but he could pretty much attack with impunity while all Drogo has for defense are some juicy abs - which generally don't hold up well vs. 5 foot of greatsword.

Mountain also has greatly superior size and strength, Drogo is a child against him, meaning if Drogo closes in to pick spots to bypass armour, Mountain can grab and crush. Drogo is no more able to win a grappling contest against him than Oberyn Martell.

Mountain mostly wins in a straight duel situation, I put him as a 90% favourite.

Strip the armour off and give them both a melee weapon of choice, it likely shifts in Drago's favour, but not overwhelmingly so because reach and grappling are both still things. Mountain was not unbeaten solely because of size, he had to have skills as well.

Drogo was a very agile fighter like Obery, didn't use armor, so we can assume it would be a very drawn out fight, since Dothraki weapons cannot pierce knights steel armor, by the same token Clegane would never be able to catch him and crush his skull like a pretzel. I'd be more interested in one of them vs Bobby B, i think Bobby could take the Mountain with his plate crushing warhammer.

Yeah he is but the Mountain is inhumanly big and strong.

Let's say Drogo is ballpark twice as strong as a normal man - he is an exceptional physical specimen and lifelong warrior.

The Mountain is played by Thor, who is considerably smaller than the canon Mountain, but lets just say they are the same strength - well that's four or five times stronger than a normal man.

So Mountain is easily twice as strong as Drogo and much larger. It's like a man against a woman or 12 year old boy. Grappling = dead Drogo and it's not close.

Oberyn used a spear specifically so that he could attack the Mountain outside his giant reach. Drogo had a gay-ass sickle, meaning he has inferior reach vs. Mountain's longer arms and 5' greatsword. Unless he's going to spend twenty minutes running away like a huge pussy (unlikely given his psychology) he has to close and attack.

I'm basing this off depicted weapons and armour, if they get to choose different items, or fight using the same stuff as each other, things change. Like I guess Drogo might want a horse and a compound bow, that would change things a lot.

Yea and drogo also never used his speed to run around like viper, only to dodge but that prolly won't work well against giant frame guys

Book versions - Drogo is a great fighter, but Dothraki blades are described a pretty useless against Westerosi armor. Jorah Mormont takes out one of Drogo's blood riders with even having to try. Mountain is also like 8ft tall. Drogo is helpless here and gets utterly demolished (might go different if they are both on mounted especially if archery is allowed). Mountain 10/10

Show version - Drogo's only feat is ripping apart an attackers throat with his pure hands. That's darn impressive, but we sadly never saw him fight more. Drogo could well be a top fighter, but we have never seen him in a real battle. It could see the fight play out in a similar way than Zombie Mountain vs Hound went. Drogo brawling but getting beaten down. So I am not shure if Zombie Mountain is slower. I would still bet on the Mountain, but we cannot be shure. Montain, but unknown.

Viper particularly used the spear specifically.

I also think Viper has more agility as a super power while Drogo has more brute hand to hand combat maneuverability and dodging but that doesn't mean its the same as keeping distance using agility. Its more like using agility to do close range combat.

And so it relies and being able to do close range damage which is within mountains domain of super power.

I would say mountain counters drogo, but drogo counters viper, and viper counters mountain in combat (but his characters ego is his Achilles heel)

Also the other Dothraki super power is them being like the "Mongol Horde" and are unmatched relative to other heroes in the open field on horses. but to a lesser extent in 1 on 1 combat relative to the others.

While the mountain is this huge end boss slayer of all sub 8 foot humans.

Drogo had to fight all his own friends/allies constantly to be top dog.

Drogo was like Tyson and Moutain was some sumo wrestler

At the expense of speed and agility. Again, with a weapon that is completely useless VS The Mountain.


Comparing The Mountain and Drogo is basically like comparing the 5'7 150lb fighter in prison with no formal training who only fought other degenerates with a professional fighter that's much larger, heavier, stronger and is wearing armor/pads.
