I tried to save a bird.

I went out to my backyard to check on my crops and I heard a bird struggling in one of our palm trees.

I left it alone for an hour or two but i decided to get out a ladder and free it with a broom.

It ended up flying to the neighbors roof and I'm not sure what happened to it at this point, it might be up there still dying or it may have flown off.

What would you have done? Left it to die?

Should I have just let it go and gone to sleep?

I'm not sure what to do anymore and I don't like being forced into making life and death decisions.

Sun coming up. It's on the neighbors roof, it's still alive.

It had a friend come by a bit ago keeping it company.

I was a bit afraid the friend might attack me so I made gestures and tried to assure it I was a friend as well.

Yea I was kinda pissed cuz it was like 2-3 am and I had to wake up my neighbors with the loud ass aluminum ladder, not the A shaped one either the big mofo.

I was hoping it would just get itself free but the more I heard it struggle the more I took pity on it, it squawked a bit but the broom was pretty soft so I don't think I hurt it.

I'm really glad I don't have a dead/dying bird in my tree too.
