Do a part time job one day a week or a couple hours a day a few times and put all that paycheck as an extra payment, straight off balance. Also, check with nelnet what options you have for payment schedule. You might be able to adjust it for smaller payments for a few years or make your required payments based off of salary.

I only took out one 7.5k loan and it has me stressin lol. honestly used most of it to pay off debt from gambling
dropped out and working full time for a tech company.
rent + bills is about 60-70% of my monthly income. I should have plenty to pay this off right if only I can budget
adulting is alright, just a lil bit stressful
I guess some kids who don’t get jobs out of college have it worse than me too

How much do you owe and are expected to pay per month?

I owe 7.5k so not too bad, but my rent + utilities + groceries is 60-70% of my check. not too bad compared to others I guess if I can budget correctly
I’m looking to throw as much as I can each check, I looked at those payment plans for like 30 yrs, fook that

Pick up another job. Even if its 10 hours, put it strictly to the loans.
A huge reason people "cannot afford to pay" is because they put a cap on how much they should work, or their ego is way too big to take jobs that are "less than them." Pick up a job washing dishes or chit. Minimum wage is $12/hr in CA. 40 hours a month doing that, and that's ~$400 after tax. Certainly that can leave you with money that you can save. Pay 3 months of minimum payments in advance, and then use the next 3 months to save and rip off a massive chunk of the student loan.
$7500 in student loans is about as close to nothing as it gets.

College is cheap as **** in America. If you have a large amount of loans then you should have a high paying job to knock them out. I have 22k left I pay $900 a month right now but about to bump that up to $2k

Pay the absolute bare minimum. Get on an income driven repayment plan or call your lender and ask for a COVID forbearance.
Just wait for this **** to implode and Congress to be forced to enact loan forgiveness

For my American brahs here, what do your loans look like?
I was in Europe a few years back at a conference and met a post-doc from the US. He was mentioning how his student loans were 500,000$. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

i will never forget
i had just graduated college and got first job. Making decent money bought a house. Was at my parents house talking to family members in the kitchen about this same question. Asking how in the world can i pay all these bills, and in the background my dad was cracking up at me. Now I look back and just laugh.
