When choosing an artist find someone that has good ink on there body and ask who did it.. a lot of little tattoo shops will post pics of ink they didnt even do themself to get clients.

Nah mate, it's nothing to do with any interest in the movie, guaranteed that the movie was good and japanese culture was always something I'm quite interested in but it's more to do with the general artwork and the idea of martial arts with the actual tattoo and it honestly is just an awesome presentation.

The only cool ink I've seen imo in japanese style is "horiyoshi heroes" type stuff.. a lot of small details. But i'm not asian so i wouldn't tattoo asian stuff..

Edit you're not asian either.. aren't you turkish background.. i would think something like a persian immortal tattoo would be more suited to you than a japanese tattoo. At least when people ask you would have more reason behind it than "japan and martial arts are neat"

Get a tattoo, who cares, but most of the people who get "theme" tattoos and not ones that actually mean something to them later regret it down the line. I've thought about getting a tattoo, but I will have a dream that I get one, and I immediately regret it. Then I wake up freaking out that I have a tattoo and I get relieved that I didn't actually get one. Not to say they aren't cool, but they just aren't my thing, and some people like them, to each their own. As long as it's not offensive, I really don't care. One of my friends essentially has an entire body suit and he's got some sick pieces on him, and each of them have a meaning to him, rather than just "looking cool". I also know a kid who got a pin-up girl tattoo because it looked cool, and then after regretted it because he'd eventually get married and have some random chick tattooed on him, and he'd have to explain to his kids.

I would check the artist's/tattoo shops previous work from instagram or something. You can see the quality of work that they do. A great tattooer will have clean, even, smooth lines, whereas chit artists will have different line thicknesses and the shading will be off. Once the tattoo heals too and a few weeks later, the true quality of a tattoo will show. The chit ones will start to fade and blur, whereas the good ones will always look good. Tattoos often need to be touched up over time, and then when you are old they will just be one massive blob of ink on your skin. If you want a good idea at different artists, styles, and want to learn more, watch Ink Master, srs.

There's a few artists who if I ever wanted to get a tattoo, I would only go to them. However, these people are often booked up to 18 months in advance and cost way more than your typical tattoos, but will look incredible.

Tattoo regret isnt that bad. It'll be really bad the first couple of months but after a while the tattoo will just become a part of you and you'll get used to it and you might even like it.

This. But I’ve always designed or had a graphic artist friend design mine so they didn’t have to freehand anything. The two designs I have they just took my image and stenciled it on, so I wasn’t really worried about it. That said, the artist I found for my 3rd had a good portfolio of working with roses, which was part of my image, so it made me a little more comfortable I guess.

Just get drunk and find the nearest shop, what could go wrong?
