Home security system

Anyone with home security recommendations? I was thinking of just setting up a few cameras but a buddy is making me think getting something professionally monitored is the way to go.

Ring's DIY alarm system is cheapest and still good I think. Starting equipment cost is only $250 and monthly monitoring is only $10/month.

Basic thing to do is to reinforce the screws in your door with longer ones, also reinforce the windows, that would buy you some time, alarm system with automatic light and camera is good, add a trained dog or two and a gun, and you're pretty much set.

Waste of money. Get a big dog. Hell get a couple little pissed off sounding dogs. Will deter anyone more than any expensive system will.

Cameras alone are pointless. Even if they record.

Need an actual service that calls the cops if you’re away.

This i have cameras, sensors on all windows and it will call the cops too. On top of that I have two big ass dogs and if im home I have my guns

Look for a service that involves a standalone unit on the wall where you can set the alarm and what not. Cameras are pointless most of the time mine record in HD but if someone has a hood up or something there's no point

Get a sensor system with very bright lights that lights up when tripped. Also camera system. Also a dog.

Get the blink camera system from Amazon. ****ing awesome. Anytime someone/something enters the camera range it sends you a video. Wish I would have bought it sooner

That is what I was asking for recommendations on because there are so many options.

Also more than good on the home defense front for people suggesting that.

You should go for remote site monitoring because this is a very safe and cost-effective idea for home security.
