Sudden HEARING LOSS in left ear !!!!!!! ((HALP))

Sitting on sofa when hearing in left ear suddenly diminished by about 60%, accompanied by a feeling of pressure in my head/ears. If I cover my right ear, everything sounds muffled.

Googled wtf was going on, and started to freak out at the possibility of it being permanent!

Thought I would turn to misc doctors for advice until I can go to IRL doctors on Monday

Anyone else experience this?

EDIT - nurse looked in my ear and couldn't see any earwax

Probably just too much ear wax, it happened to me it filled up and one day I couldn’t hear anything in one ear at all. I went as got wax softener for my ear dropped some in and waited 20 minutes, then I went to the doctor and got ear wax removal, which is like a syringe they put in and pump water in ur ear and it all comes out and then I was good as new

It never lasts that long unless I have some kind of infection going on.

It sounds like your brain is maybe starting to seep out of your head through your ears. I'm sure it's fine.

See an ENT specialist. Chances are it is just a bit of wax or some bug. But it could be something bad.

for OTC solutions, u could try debrox and see if it helps clear out wax.

Do you have any vertigo? I had that happen before but my first symptom was vertigo which lasted for 1 day. The next day i couldn't hear anything from my right ear and i felt pressure on my ear drum. Turns out it was infected. Took like a week to clear up

You're probably fine, it's most likely either a bout of vertigo or tinnitus. Contrary to popular belief you don't have to hear a ringing to have tinnitus. This occasionally happens to me too, initially wondered wtf is going on now no longer care because it's benign and not getting worse

No vertigo, but feeling pressure on ear drum, particularly left. When I shake my head I hear a chiming noise...which is a symptom for tinnitus.

Left ear feels clogged. Feel a slight pressure in ear. Certain noises sound tinny

Like I said, don't overthink it, assume it's not a huge deal. If you notice the frequency increasing, go see a specialist

Just went in to clinic and they couldn't see any earwax

gave my a spray in case it's an infection. fuuuarkkkkkkkkkkkkkin earcel

on way home I noticed when I whistle it sounds really weird.

You have an ear wax build up in your ear. Go to the doctor and get it irrigated. Alternatively, you can get a kit to try to do it yourself at home.

Takes a day or two with consistent use, just follow the directions. I also used peroxide a couple drops in the ear, kept it tilted but don't go overboard because the peroxide will loosen it up but it won't dissolve it that's what the product is for

Have you done any swimming lately OP? You may have some waterlogged in there.

Or it could be sinus related, try blocking your nostrils and blowing hard into them through your nose, that clears my ears up and makes them pop back to normal when I experience blockage in them.

I’ve had a history of ear issues like infections and random feelings of blockage, tinnitus etc. it should go by it’s self just like it came by it’s self

Nurse looked in my ear and couldn't see any earwax....was really hoping it was just a build up of earwax

You don't have an infection
Vertigo and tinnitus are symptoms, not causes
Meniere's disease is caused by past physical trauma to the head

Grab some OTC drops/alcohol and let it soak in to displace the wax 2-3 times per day until it clears
