Get a piece of rebar or 3/4" steel shaft to shove inside that pipe if you add more weight to it to keep it from bending.

As it is it should be able to handle 125 - 150 pounds if you keep your grip wide.
First weights I had was a length of heavy pipe with car batteries roped to the ends.
