Dangerous places you traveled to (work or leisure)

https://www.france24.com/en/20200809...-governor-says

Can't imagine going to a third world country for humanitarian purposes to get gunned down.

lol at last line of the article
"The use of motorcycles has been totally banned since January in an attempt to curb the movements of such jihadists."

East stl probably for me, I haven't done much traveling obviously.

In northern Africa, it's what islamic extremists use for ambushing police/military transport in secluded areas. Political assassinations or freeing transported prisoners, then anonymously speed away, outrunning any cars in the chaos.

The dumbest/most extremist ones assassinate the well-intentioned humanitarian foreigners, the smarter ones tend to rob'em or kidnap them for a ransom.

Backpacked from Cancun down to Costa Rica from December until March of this year. Mexico was fine although it gets a lot of hype as being super dangerous, but I generally partied in the hostels/close by so no real issues. Guatemala city is considered dangerous so I skipped it, the rest of the country wasn't scary at all.

Completely skipped Honduras, and only stayed in El Salvador for a week. El Salvador was probably the scariest country. Literally no one was outside after 6pm when it got dark. Went out for groceries at 8pm one night and the hostel owner insisted on driving us there and back, and brought a few extra guys for security.

Nicaragua felt a little weird due to all the political strife in the country at the moment. Gubment has been in shootouts with University students for over a year now. Once again, mostly partied in the hostel or nearby, with a couple exceptions. Went to a rave in an abandoned mansion in the jungle, and the whole ride there I thought I was about to get my organs harvested. Ended up being fun as FUK, filled with sloots and lots of dat der. Epic time.

Cape Town. My dad and I were there to visit family, wanted to go out to downtown one night but the hotel concierge stopped us and told us to stay in.

Next morning found out the spot we thought of going to there was a shooting.

Also drove through Detroit once on the way to Chicago several years back.

Used to walk a mile home from work through the worst neighborhood of my city (daily shootings) at midnight. Never got robbed, just accosted by dealers and hookers occasionally. Ironically I was robbed at gunpoint just sitting in my car in a much nicer neighborhood years later...

Started going away from the main street and I noped the **** out of there mid traffic

Most dangerous probably was Rome or Panama. Because i been to Mexico, DR, Costa Rica and i was at a all inclusive resort the whole time.. Rome and Panama a AirBnB or hotel. And all the pan handlers sellng their bull**** in Rome were annoying as **** and i almost got in a fight with one.. Panama full of hookers and shady ****

Like DR had active security holding guns in different corners of the place at night.. kinda felt VIP as **** cause my room was at the end of the hall and i literally had a kid with a shotgun outside my door

Criminality in Rome is unorganised and unplanned and by individuals, which is totaly different than what you see in other cities.

besides that one street vendor. didn't have any problems.. but i can see how it could be dangerous if you were a single female or a smaller dude... I'm not a smaller dude and i have the male resting bitch face.. i look mad unapproachable. i would say i felt like **** could go wrong more in the Colosseum area vs all the other areas i visited. other places it was mainly arabic vendors selling roses or toys. at the Colosseum they invade your space hard body. or try and put a bracelet on your girl.. and thats where i had the problem and it was a night time.. so im sure those roaches live together and i could of gotten jumped

Nigeriens. With an E. Pronounced the same as Nigerian. From what I understand their country was named first, but because Nigeria is richer, larger and was influenced by Britain, they stole the name.

Was the most dangerous place you ever visited Niger?

Nah, Opie's link took place in Niger.

I've never been anywhere dangerous. No desire to go anywhere like that either.

Oh I admittedly didn’t click the link lmao.

That’s probably a good thing. Even westernized African countries can get dangerous quick. Niger is one of the most dangerous on the continent and not at all westernized.

Nowhere truly dangerous. Detroit, Mumbai, Bulgaria, Tunesia, London, Paris, Dublin would probably the most dangerous places.
