Which supplement(s) is causing me anxiety?

I’ve staryed feeling really bad intrusive anxiety for the last few months, I’m pretty certain it’s being induced by a supplement/s that I’m taking.

Sups I’m on r:
Artichoke extract:450mg take with every meal
Ginger root extract 550mg pill, take with every meal
Vitamin D3 take 10k iu a day
NAC 1.2g

Why do you need supplements?

Stop all the supplements for a week or two

Does your anxiety get better?

No? Go see a doc or talk to someone

Yes? Add in one supplement at a time. Only one supplement added per couple weeks.

You’ll have an answer

honestly doctors don’t do much when it comes to anxiety. They just will give me a benzo or put me on anti depressants and tell me to go home. I’m on sups cause I have digestive issues so I felt these things may help and vit D helps with a D deficiency

Anxiety is a mental reaction to your environment, your supps aren't causing it

The more anxious you become, the more irregular your breathing also becomes

Practice controlling your breathing and the feeling will subside

We can't just give you a pill to stop anxiety, because again it's completely mental.

Anxiety disorders stem from depression, that's why we give you anti-depressants in an attempt to treat the cause, not the effect.

Go see a psychiatrist for more targeted treatments.

I agree with that to an extent but there r different forms of anxiety which can be induced by different things. Some people r more inclined to be anxious from difference things. Breathing techniques help but doesn’t help it enough to settle it.

Anxiety most certainly can be caused by chemicals introduced into the body.

Let me inject you with an excessive amount of epinephrine and as you run screaming and literally dying in sheer extreme terror until your heart has had enough and stops, I'll tell you it's simply a mental reaction to your environment.

That's an extreme example, but all sorts of physical things can cause abnormally increased anxiety. Things such as caffeine, MSG, and a wide variety of legal and illegal drugs. Physical abnormalities such as kidney and brain tumors can also.

The claim that anxiety is completely mental is completely false. It can in fact be caused by chemicals introduced into the body and also by a wide variety of abnormal health conditions.

You fail to understand cause & effect completely.

Anxiety is a mentalfeeling100%, it's only exacerbated by drugs, notcreated by.

i.e. Things like caffeine affect anxiety because it increases heart rate, same for epinephrine.

Anxiety is a mental side-effect of various mental illnesses, most commonly depression.

If someone is an alcoholic and they drink to the point they’re depressed does that mean it’s just a mental feeling and they can think and breathe their way out of it? Yea the alcohol is the cause, the effect is the depressed feeling. Can that not be said for things like taking a supplement that can irritate the body/brain to the extent that it makes u feel anxious/panicky/dread?

Pretty sure none of those supplements are likely to exacerbate anxiety.

Caffeine is a pretty usual suspect, what is your intake like and has it increased?

If not I've found that my usual caffeine intake can magnify anxiety from other stressful events in my life that might otherwise go unnoticed

edit: also why are you taking these supps, is it for a medical reason? If not then just get rid of them
