Friend of mine with special needs bit a teacher in class. Also he once threw a chair at her. Some kids just have that crazy switch, where they lose all control.
He now is a pilot despite his autism.

usually im against the cops in most threads, but this one is pretty clear cut. kids lucky he didn't get tazed and maced. these officers deserve a promotion- their jobs are so so dangerous. kid could have had a weapon on him like a slingshot or a sharpened crayon

8 year olds don't say things like "my mom is going to beat your ass" if they're being raised in stable homes. I really feel for the kid, he obviously shouldn't be hitting people but it's pretty clear that he needs more than handcuffs too small for his wrists.

Id say they could put him in timeout and talk about what he did wrong.. then go buy him ice cream , toy , and get him a ribbon for participating in life... but... right now Portland is full of those entitled participation ribbon *******s… its safe to say tough love works better. As fkd up as arresting an 8yo is.. bet your fkn a$$ that little degenerate $hit will remember that for the rest of his life...

And I havent really read into this incident much at all... but what are the chances he was a repeat offender? lol... bet it was the first or even second time he tried to throw hands with his teacher.

Kid is probably a daily problem. In the past you could suspend theme, but it's much harder to discipline any student these days.

Kids like this need to be separated form others because they bring the whole class down.

Wait a moment, was this a case of "schools calling cops to teach students a lesson" or was it actually gonna involve a conviction/jail/violence? Especially since the parents were unavailable.

When I was a kid, they'd call in cops for kids who regularly missed homework.

Either way, teachers and kids are screwed.

They also aren't releasing a bodycam "because juvenile"

The article says the case was dismissed once the state attorney's office received confirmation of services (that he was special needs, etc.) based on the doctor's report.

It was not clear from what I read who actually called the police.
