Any 6'1+ ectos successfully grow their calves 1.5 inches+? Manlets/mesos stay out

If you're a stumpy gnome (shorter than a legit barefoot 6'1) or have Michael Bisping's frame/bone thickness don't bother posting in this thread with your golden thoughts, boyo:

I don't just want stories because they sound as credible as your 5'4 hairy obese Pakistani kebab vendor friend who slays prime cunny because he's confident.

Looking for before/after pics or vids. I just don't think it's possible when I look at pros like Deontay Wilder or Jon Jones who have been on their toes all their lives and still have chicken calves. Jones also lifts heavy as fuark.

I dont have before and after pics, but I grew mine .75" by using high rep schemes. The calves are unique for most people in that the type 1A fibers (slow-oxidative) tend to dominate almost all the time because we use them so much in walking and running. You REALLY have to push HELLA HARD to get any noise out of the Type 2X (fast glycolytic) fibers which are the ones that grow through hypertrophy.

Aside from the top 2 BEST ways to trigger hypertrophy:
1.) Progressive Overload
2.) Time Under Tension

Another EXCELLENT tool that you can keep in your tool box isBlood Flow Restrictiontraining. You use a constriction band to cut off the venous blood flow (i.e. the blood flow coming FROM the muscles returning to the heart) but not the Arterial blood flow (i.e. blood flow FROM the heart to the muscles).

What you are doing is cutting off the blood supply to the Type 1A fibers (the endurance/slow oxidative fibers) and forcing the Type 2X fibers (the fast glycolytic, the POWERFUL fast contracting fibers) to do all the work. But there is a specific rep scheme to get max benefits. Pick a weight you can do 30 reps
-Do 30 reps, rest for 30 sec
-15 reps, rest for 15 sec
-15 reps, rest for 15 sec
-15 reps and done
Total of 75 reps

You need a HIGH pain threshold for BFR training though because it's a b'otch. Not TERRIBLE on the arms, Burns like hell on quads, Fukking murder on calves. Use BFR as a finisher exercise at the end of the workout and you can do 2-3 exercises 3-4 times per week.

Here is a full symposium of a PhD researcher who did a chit ton of research into this

Also, one thing to remember with calves is that you MUST be doing seated calves raises in addition to standing/leg press raises. You HAVE to ISO the Soleus muscle and you CANNOT do that without bending the knees. The Gastrocnemius will take over every single time other wise. The soleus has the affect kind of like the brachialis muscle. It pushes the gastrocnemius UP and OUT so it will give your calves a ton of girth

Also, here is a guy who i like watching because he gets hella creative

Do some pauses, 3-5 seconds top and bottom. BFR calves is nice. None of that bouncing up and down bull****.

I got mine from playing soccer. This was me before ever lifting a weight. I've been measured at 6'2 barefoot and 6'1.5 barefoot.

When I stopped playing soccer, I did actually lose quite a bit of size in my calves. So I did calves 6x a week, supersetting, and usually did sets of 20-40 reps. So I would use the smith machine and a platform for 20 reps, then go to the seated calf maching and do 20 reps, full ROM. I would do 6 sets.

When I first started again, I did sets of 50 reps on the floor with the bar on my back until I could barely walk. Lifted in my buddies basement. You can kind of see them here. Before the pic below my calves were turning into twigs. It looked awful.

Although I have good insertions for calves. They aren't high and not too low.

Most guys just don't train them enough, or in a way that's effective.

My AVI is for lulz, but the reason I took the picture was for a before and after thread.

My before picture was 15" and my AVI is 17".

It's a muscle...it'll grow if you train for hypertrophy.

I have small joints I guess with 7.5" wrists and 9" ankles. I'm almost 6'3" barefoot, but I just go with 6'2". My calves are 17" but I play a ton of basketball. Not sure about a traditional route. For reference my arms are 16" and neck is almost 18".

I did absurd levels of volume on my calves to the point I could barely walk out the gym. I would say I added close to 2". I even trained the tibialis anterior. Some days my calves looked as wide as my quads. I took the arnold approach to training them basically.

Of course genetics plays a role, and so does bodyfat, but I went from pretty pathetic calves after I stopped playing soccer, to my calves looking like quads. It took a while though. Once the pump goes away, they look small again, but overtime you really start to see the difference.

My calves look ridiculous because I bike 85+ miles a week on weekdays and hike 10 mile 2k altitude trails on weekends. Ymmv but the key to legs, in my experience, is real life work. Mine do not respond to lifting.

Well, for most people, calves tend to mirror arms. I have ~17.5" arms and my calves are really close (I have nerve damage in my left leg so that one is atrophied a bit). But Perhaps you are looking at it wrong. Look at it as a challenge. You may need to dedicate 2 or 3 days to JUST calve work, but keep in mind, you probably need HIGH reps (at least 20) and QUALITY reps at that. None of the fast/bouncing bull chit. I would also work on your mind muscle connection. Calves are one of the muscle groups that you should be able to contract so hard that you are fighting off a cramp. If it isnt threatening to tear itself in half, then you lack that connection and you are missing out on those gains

Edit: Also...there are less androgen receptors in the legs as opposed to say...the shoulders

Nippard is a manlet but his advice is legit

Also, youtube "30 day calve challenge" and watch them to see if any of those pique your itnerest

Mirin you before you ever lifted a weight. Looking like Ronaldo except with significantly wider shoulders. Mirin calves in both pics.

I've got really high insertions and thin ankles. I measured them today at 15 inches. I don't think they're much bigger than Jones' if at all. In all fairness I never blasted them like you did yours but that's not to say I didn't hit them. They probably grew an inch since I started lifting seriously. I'll try to squeeze another inch out of them. Going to blast them hard as per the advice in this thread.

Thanks brah. Btw mirin your quads in that pic. wtf.

Your calves are higher insertion similar to jon jones, but yours aren't as thing as his. Your calves are more noticeable. They actually look fine with your physique srs. But if you really want to put some meat on them, I suggest insanely high reps with different toe positions too. (Toes out would be best). Full ROM and do them slow. It's brutal training but it works.

Good luck brah. Hope to see the progress pic in a couple months with juicy calves.
