They make music in different genres of rock. They are more to pop punk than punk

Would you like to hear some new skate punk music or would you like it to completely die out?

It’s only just hanging on, it is underground as fk. Stuff like this going mainstream can only be good for the future of all types of rock.

Might inspire the next gen to pick up a guitar

The riffs are SOLID, Madden 05-approved chit. But the vocals are kind of weird.

Pop punk is inherently an immature genre (just like it's cousin emo). Having someone young singing it, not a 40yo rapper, goes a long way.

Either way, it's cool, and it's something I never would've known about if it wasn't for the misc. OP has my reps.

Examples of how a whiny teenager works for pop punk.

MGK is 30

Aside from All American rejects the other pop punk era bands put out there best stuff mid 20s and still bangers early 30s so mgk is not so out of place

Pretty much this

I mean It’s nice to see him trying to venture off from the tired corny rap thing but this is pretty lame. Besides the Megan fox bit ofc.

But srs Travis Barker has talent, if you got anyone else besides mgk these songs would be a lot better. He’s trying I guess but he’s just not very good at songwriting/playing guitar/singing. Hopefully this leads to some better stuff in the same vein though

I'm conflicted. I think the dude is a fukin coconut but I miss this style of music so bad that i hope it starts trending again. That said the only good song he did was Bloody Valentine. The one with Megan.

It's a strong ballad, kind of went under the radar in 2005 radio outside of local rock stations

Punk rock/Emo is something you had to have grown up with, it only lasted from 99-2006 but shaped us millennials

Heavy Blink-182 influence, not complaining

lol Megan Fox and him must have rented a Delorean given this genre + her presence

Listened to a couple of them, not bad at all. Not something I'd expect out of MGK. Better than the chit he tried to stick to eminem

had no idea he had done any of this
