JK202 lifting update for Samsbolton :)

Because I know you worry about me. Just wanted you to know that things are going pretty well even 13 weeks into a deficit. Just in this last week 440 RDL, 9 plate hack and 275 incline. But hey, I can only bench 315

Nowhere near actually touching the chest though?

It’s a bit silly to claim numbers for partial lifts don’t you think? Do you agree with me?

This isn't a bench competition bud. I stop at a range that keeps my left shoulder happy. Imo stopping a inch or two off the chest and controlling the direction change is better than the dudes using their ribs as a trampoline

All my reps stop here, from empty bar to top set

I’ll make a serious point since I like to be helpful.

You work out with basically zero aggression. There’s no energy in your reps, it’s like watching my grandma.

You need a proper gym, not a spa or whatever that is. Try listening to Rammstein instead of Bach. Put some fukkin oomph into it, lift it like you mean it. Jesus.

Lmfao. Just because I control the weight!? That's a big 180 from your opinion (which I so dearly value) of the last squats I posted

And trust me, I'd love to never step foot in a commercial gym again, but it's the only thing available in a 30 min radius of me worth going to. Quite ridiculous.

Because you’ve been kicked out of everywhere else for grunting like a rutting pig. Personally I’d ban you for the bro fist after a set, I don’t mind the gayness just don’t want it in my face

Because it was too heavy haha. These sets have their place tho. Stepping back to 260-265 next session will be likely be a 1-2 rep PB for 6-7

It's true. You made zero gains before you went to the dark side. And the only reason you have any gains now is because of that, it has nothing to do with the years of consistent effort and intensity you put in prior to supplementing your lifestyle...

Also, you are bald and you don't have great abs...

I need mephiles9 to come tell me I'm not progressively overloading. Incline was 225x4 for a top set in October and RDL was 365x4

Any specific reason you start RDLs from a raised position like that?

Reps for not wearing your girlfriend's yoga pants.

This, control was great but why so low TUL?

If I had a time machine the biggest change I'd have made when I went supernatty would be to train almost exclusively in higher rep ranges

That's generally how most people start heavy RDL, any RDL really. Mentally it's also a bit weird going from a DL rep into an RDL..Easier position to strap, less low back fatigue etc

Edit: I've started wearing women's shorts instead Lmao

I just wanted to touch 275 incline today for the first time. Annecdotally, these 3-4 reppers aren't ideal for maximal hypertrophy, but stepping back to a 6-7 rep weight after this will feel great and likely a facilitate a new rep PB. I dont program these in or anything.

5-15 range is where I pretty much live. Top sets 5-8 and a backoff set 8-12. Some higher rep stuff for lateral delts or something like a leg ext. I also like to sneak in a bit of volume after straight loading set in the form of a pumpy metabolic based sequence hitting 2-3 failure points through different loading ranges

Just what I enjoy and have added a solid amount of strength and thickness from it.
