just how strong was Germany during WW2?

like they just took an L after WW1, lost alot of and they could only have an army of 100k

Hitler really ****ed them going for Stalingrad.

Probably should have just continued ****ing the Russians up instead of wasting effort on England. England was contained on the island, all Germany would have had to do was focus on the Russians instead of opening up a multi-front war.

Frankly, their main strength was that France was even weaker after WWI, and so very easy to invade. As well taking over a bunch of countries with 3rd world militaries. After that, their only real opposition came from countries that had to build up invasion level strength (short of Russia after Germany dun goofed), so they were able to hold ground for an extended period of time.

Also declaring war on the US was game over for them and Goering admitted this at the Nuremberg trials. Evidently, Hitler thought this move would somehow inspire the Japanese to attack Russia from the East. Idk how the fuk he figured that.

They spent a huge amount on their military, rearmament was their primary economic policy. They put people to work and virtually eliminated unemployment. Hitler said that “the future of Germany depends exclusively and only on the reconstruction of the Wehrmacht. All other tasks must cede precedence to the task of rearmament” and “in case of conflict between the demands of the Wehrmacht and demands for other purposes, the interests of the Wehrmacht must in every case have priority.”

I think he took a huge risk that didn't pay off by attacking the west first. I don't know that it was idiotic.

In hindsight, had he attacked the Ruskies first, the allies gladly would have rooted him on. Then he would have had enough resources and supply lines to go after western europe. But Stalin was about to pull a reverse uno card when he knew Germany was over-extended in the west, and once the war went to 2 fronts, it was systemically impossible for them to win.
