Europe is proof that lockdowns only help the short term

look at Italy and Spain...everyone touting them as the virus being behind them after excessive lockdowns to now starting to face a rise in cases

fact of the matter is..only way to defeat the virus is go out and defeat it with immunity and protect rises in hospitalizations for those that are more vulnerable. excessive lockdowns only make sense if you literally lock down until zero cases. the problem is all this shut down is originally it was shut down to help control hospitalizations. now the narrative has shifted to lock down until zero cases which would never work.

The whole idea of "locking down" heavily relied on:

1. The virus just disappearing
2. There being a vaccine(they normally take years to develop and deploy)

Which is RETARDED because neither of those are guaranteed. So what happens hypothetically if a vaccine couldn't be developed(luckily we'll have one by 2021)??? Wtf would these geniuses do?

Lower transmission rates to a point where the healthcare system can handle treatment. That was literally said 1000s of times. Not that the virus would mysteriously vanish.

This. Staying quarantine for the next 12 months is unreasonable and the only for the virus to disappear is to have everyone who has the virus to die. Either way, quarantine will only slow the virus down. Not stop it.
