I got called a racist two times today in NYC

....both times it was by groups of 2-3 mid-twenties individuals trying to stop people going about their day asking for money I am sure. I simply breezed by both times without any eye contact or acknowledgement. One person from the first group called me a racist, and then in group two, the entire group yelled out "racist" for about 20 seconds.

White, black, asian, hispanic, indian, green man, doesn't matter. I don't even acknowledge these people.

This happened in the penn station/herald square area aka the asscrack of Manhattan. Penn Station has always been the worst place in the world but got damn there were hundreds of homeless just hanging out in that area.

Either way, sounds about right as I'm leaving NYC on Tuesday, and I will return in the spring because 97% chance that winter is going to be a joke in NYC.

Never called a racist when I lived there but can confirm that area is indeed a chithole. Seen homeless people doing drugs and even fukking on the side streets.

Methinks the homeless/bums are going to get pretty aggressive in the next couple months. I've noticed people staring to get really bold in their hustling. It's rare that I ever get asked for more than a casual "spare some change?" by a bum, but in the last week I had a guy try to hustle me while he was driving and I was in the Wendy's drive thru, as well as another bum tapping on my window at a stoplight.

Normally I will entertain myself and fuk with them a little bit before saying no, but now I'm just waving "no" with my hand and not acknowledging anymore.

Do you not ride the subway? It’s filled with degeneracy everytime I’ve been on one. And then I went down towards the ferry to ride over to New Jersey and everyone bothering you trying to sell you tickets for the Statue of Liberty. Annoying af.

And no homeless asks you for anything? Dang brah idk how you avoid it.

Dude, the high waisted yoga pants are amazing on the right girls. But it needs to be some tight 18-22 age typically. One girls are even like 10-15 pounds overweight it's too much.

ive lived in new york for long time. and i take penn station to work

ive been called racist once when this guy handed me his mixtape and said you dont have to be scared of black people but thats it

penn station doesnt have homeless people. its full of police and they kick the homeless out. herald square isnt same as pen station

Sorry, but low cut stuff and bare midriffs were where it's at. Even on the best body high-waisted doesn't look as good. And in most cases it's just a cover up for a gut.

Probably a scheme to shake down beta white males.

In Toronto there are (or used to be) these black power guys standing on Yonge Street shaming white people for slavery and intimidating people into giving them donations for some fake charity. They’d routinely call people racist and chit. They can get really aggressive if you don’t acknowledge them.

One time I was walking by them with a black girl on my arm and their attitude was completely different. No begging. They came up with a handshake politely explained what their organization was about. When I declined to give money he was like “no worries bro, have a great day.”

Not sure if I gained my privilege or lost it that day but it felt good lmao.

wont work in new york. in new york. no one speaks to homeless people. theyre totally ignored. you wont have chance to converse. ive seen homeless people on their knees in middle of streets with their hands out and people walk over them

only tourists will tell homeless people sorry i dont have money or give them money

also when people approach me with like clipboards or something. you just keep walking. trust me theyre used to it. only betas stop and talk to them

NYC was great before COVID-19. But it's been pretty garbage since then because they let the criminals run free.

The Penn Station area is definitely the area of weirdos though.

Agreed, but I live around a bunch of 19 year old college girls and that all they're wearing right now, and it's a definite plus.

There is some truth to this. Plenty of good neighborhoods to live in, but most peoples daily commute (If you need to) takes you to one of the above areas.

You lived in NYC a long time so we both know 34th street takes you through both of these in a 10 minute walk lol. Obviously they're not the same.

Either way, idk when you lived here, but its changed. I commuted to Penn Station everyday from Nov-Jan. My eye doctor is in the area, and I picked up contacts today, and the place is absolutely littered with homeless.

This is funny, there's a group of black kids who stand right outside of the Whole Foods near me doing basically this same scam. They are trying to "collect money for their band" but I've never seen this group anywhere else. Obviously they know where to scam for maximum effect.
