Once fully certified it will be 160k+.. gotta wait till COVID is done sadly and it might take another 1.5-2 years to be done. Really fkd up my career progression

Lots of divorces lol like lots. Your weekends consist of Tue and Wed for a good part of 5 years. The training is the hard and long part, it's a sink or swim with zero mistakes mentality and some of the older trainers are rough. You sort of get to choose your schedule, you get to bid on certain hours but it's based on seniority.

Positives are you potentially could be on break half your shift, paid lunch, because the schedule you get a 3day weekend, lots of amenities in the facility including a good sized gym. Mandatory retirement at 56 with a 6figure pension plus what you put into your TSP.

Certified controllers tell me all the time once you're done with training it becomes about 95% boredom with 5% terror.. and it's only hard if you suck

Don't ever tell yourself you're overpaid srs. In high skilled trades it's easy to take your abilities for granted because it seems easy. You're paid for what you know not what you do.

I've seen some great controllers have 30 planes on their EDST (computer screen) and literally not miss a single beat. Lives are at stake
