Its not a chit breed. Pits are very powerful and can be very useful. Obviously someone trained these pits to keel small animals without control, and it did just that.

Its been said over and over again- its the owners fault for not muzzling them and not properly chaining them down.

Why do the bystanders suck? The little black dog would have been long dead. It would have made zero sense for them to jump in and get attacked in order to save a dead dog's body. The black guy could sit there and wrestle with them because they were his dogs, but it's not like that was going to help anything. It probably only made it worse by putting himself at risk when the cops started shooting.
